is terminated in meaning. The mind is like a flu that has been cured and will not recur, because the past is no longer recalled now, and the connection between the three times is severed. The mind is controlled by the completely pure wind, and the Great Perfection, primordial liberation, without the need for transference, abides in the nature of the mind, which is called the empowerment of the self-appearing and self-liberating wisdom that is utterly free from elaboration. At the time of seeing the appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata, the body is like being released from the snare of the dakinis, which arises from the mind entering the net of clear light. This is because abiding in the view of the Great Perfection self-liberation, there is no fear, shyness, hope, disappointment, joy, or dread. Through the empowerment of speech, the karma of the body is purified, thereby causing the utterly non-elaborate wisdom to arise spontaneously. Speech is like the echo of a valley, no longer clinging to speaking, which arises from the letters at the root places entering the bindu of wind. The inexpressible meaning of the Great Perfection enters the sound of speech, thereby empowering the utterly non-elaborate wisdom that transcends all objects of speech. The mind, like the heart of a man pierced by an arrow, dying in an instant, vanishes on its own like a shooting star, which arises from habituation becoming all-encompassing. The measure of the Great Perfection's instantaneous accomplishment abides in the place where the mind goes, which is the time when all elaborations are completely pacified and freedom is attained in wisdom. Second, the measure is taken by dreams. At those times, for the best of diligent practitioners, those who attain enlightenment in this life, the cessation of dreams is a sign that great habituation has arisen, that they are not stained by karma and habit, and that there is neither benefit nor harm. For the intermediate, those who attain enlightenment in the bardo, knowing that it is a dream in a dream arises from definite habituation, without the distinction of good or bad habits. For the lowest, those who attain enlightenment by exhaling from the nature-body, the dreams of bad habits cease, and all that is dreamed is pure white and virtuous, which is the transformation of bad into good, arising merely from habituation, and the limits of habit are exhausted. The Secret Sound Tantra says: The best cease, the intermediate know, the lowest are certain to transform. Thus it is said. Third, the three attainments are pegged down. By obtaining freedom over birth, one actually benefits others. By obtaining freedom over entering, one
