It is like not having the knowledge to measure it. Because there is no truth in the conventional truth, nothing exists in the ultimate truth. Just as the appearance of horses and cows disappears when a dream is awakened, since there was nothing in the beginning, it is not established as something to be eliminated in reality. As it says in the Intermediate Mother Sutra: In the ultimate truth, there is neither samsara nor nirvana, nor even emptiness, it is just expressed in words. It is thought to be like that. For this, there are countless categories such as the conventional truth being completely unestablished, the reason being unestablished, the opposite being unestablished, the cause of the opposite being unestablished, one being unestablished, many being unestablished, being separate from one and many being unestablished, and mere appearance being completely unestablished. It is known as the higher Svātantrika Madhyamaka. The Prāsaṅgika Madhyamaka is that, like that, it is not established in the ultimate truth, and in the conventional truth, all such things as mere appearance being established as illusion are all negated. It is thought to be separated from all commitments of the nature that is beyond the extremes of existence and non-existence. As it says in the King of Samādhi Sutra: Constant and impermanent, this is also an extreme. The two called existence and non-existence are both extremes. Therefore, having completely abandoned both extremes, the wise do not abide even in the middle. And as it says in the Jewel Heap Sutra: The Tathāgata always abides in the unborn Dharma. All Dharmas are like the Tathāgata. Because childish minds grasp at characteristics, they practice Dharmas that do not exist in the world. And as it says in the Root Wisdom: Because of dependent arising, there is no birth and no cessation, no cutting off and no permanence, no coming and no going, different meanings and not one, the pacification of all elaborations, the Buddha taught such Dharma, I bow down and pay homage. And as it says in the Refutation of Disputes: If I had any tenets, then I would have faults. Since I have no tenets, therefore I am only without faults. And: Because I have nothing to establish, therefore I also have nothing to refute. Therefore, you now accuse me by refuting. They think that there are no philosophical systems created by the mind, because it is for the sake of pacifying elaboration. Merely appearing as various worldly people, just as it is established, as a branch of understanding terminology.

Moreover, since this is not acknowledged, the phenomenon appearing as Dharma transcends truth and falsehood, therefore it is desired to be free from the extremes of existence and non-existence and the present time. This is the pinnacle of all proponents of tenets among Buddhists. The great treatises of this school are the six collections of reasoning of the Madhyamaka, namely: the Root Wisdom, the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, the Thorough Analysis, the Refutation of Objections, and the Establishment of Terminology. Furthermore, in the presence of the noble Nagarjuna, in the first turning of the wheel of Dharma, in the explanation of the four truths, he composed a collection of statements. In the second turning of the wheel of Dharma, in the explanation of the signless Dharma, he composed a collection of reasoning. In the third turning of the wheel of Dharma, in the explanation of the ultimate definitive Dharma, he composed a collection of praises. Therefore, this teacher turns the wheel of Dharma like a second Buddha, and his treatises are no different from the words of the Buddha. The fourth meaning is the determination of the vehicle of Kriya Tantra, which has two aspects: showing how it is superior to the vehicle of cause, and explaining the superior vehicle itself. First, the characteristic vehicle requires great effort on the cause and must be accomplished with great difficulty, while mantra relies on the cause, the fruit has already ripened, so enlightenment is attained with little effort, therefore it is superior. From the cause to the five paths and ten bhumis, it takes great difficulty and countless eons to become enlightened, while mantra is at best in one lifetime, intermediate in the bardo, and at worst through several lifetimes, so it is superior because it is quick. The causal vehicle requires immeasurable accumulations to see the truth for the first time, while the mandala and ganachakra of mantra are accomplished with little effort, so it is also superior. The causal vehicle does not directly make the path empty, but explains it as provisional and definitive, intentional and hidden intentional, and distinguishes them, while mantra directly shows a straight path, so it is superior because there are no faults or obstacles. In short, compared to the vehicle of cause, the vehicle of mantra is superior in achieving the desired goal in terms of having many methods, being without difficulty, not being confused, and being quickly accomplished by those with sharp faculties. The Lamp for the Three Modes says: "Even in one meaning, there is no confusion, many methods and no difficulty, through the power of sharp faculties, the vehicle of mantra is special."
