Do not delay. The six dharmas of following the predecessors are: If you want to completely cut off the karmic obscurations and habitual tendencies, look at the nature of mind, which is rootless. If you want to find the wish-fulfilling jewel as you wish, you should constantly strive on the profound path. If you want to realize the dharma nature of reality, look at the self-nature that cannot be found by searching. If you want to integrate the practice of the instructions into your mindstream, first tame your own mindstream, and then practice. If you want to practice the sacred Dharma properly from the heart, give up this life and cut off the clinging attachments. If you want to quickly follow the predecessors, observe their actions and make practice the core. These are the essential pith instructions. The six dharmas that are inconsistent with common behavior are: Having done your own nine evil deeds, but wanting to please others, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Having done your own three deceptions, but wanting to please the Three Jewels, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Without diligently practicing in a secluded place, but complaining about the Dharma, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Speaking of compassion but only caring about yourself in action, but wanting to benefit others, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Holding onto self in your heart but speaking of emptiness, but wanting to attain liberation, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Having self-views in your heart but saying non-duality, but wanting to realize reality, this is not the behavior of a practitioner. Therefore, abandon the behaviors that violate the common norms of the Dharma. The six extremely virtuous and excellent dharmas are: At this time when the Dharma abides and we have obtained leisure and endowment, Now is the time to quickly escape from the abyss of samsara. At this time of taking the essence of hearing, thinking, and meditation into practice, now is the time to separate your own mindstream from the Dharma of pride. At this time when various sufferings and obstacles increase, now is the time to generate diligence in the Dharma of practice . At this time when the six senses manifest the six objects, now is the time to liberate the duality of grasper and grasped into self-nature. At this time of meditating on the meaning of view, meditation, and action, now is the time to impartially train the power of awareness. At this time of accomplishing the ultimate goal in this life, now is the time to diligently practice the compassionate instructions. If you do not grasp yourself by applying antidotes in this way, at the time of death, the Lord of Death will laugh at your body. The six dharmas of contradictory empty talk that cannot be accomplished are: Without gaining autonomy over yourself, But wanting to control others, this is contradictory empty talk. Without benefiting yourself, but wanting to benefit others, like

"It's absurd to want to benefit others while doing contradictory things." "It's absurd to want to be a teacher without having the qualities of a student." "It's absurd to tame others when you yourself are untamed like dry leather." "Without the confidence to realize it here," "It's absurd to instill meditation in others." "It's absurd to teach Dharma to others when you haven't changed your ordinary behavior." "Cherish such a nature unblemished by faults. The six Dharmas that encourage the excellent Dharma" "are: If you want to abandon meaningless worldly activities, when faith arises, put aside the activities." "Even if done, it's like water ripples, never ceasing. If you go to a secluded place and want to practice, when remembering, don't let the memory be idle, just go. If you don't go at that time, many obstacles will arise. When relying on a Lama, you must listen to whatever is said. If you say 'I did it,' the Lama will not be pleased. When looking at the mind itself, you must rest naturally without fabrication. If you don't rest, you will never see your own face. When seeking qualities, you must continuously exert effort. If you are impatient and intermittent, you will never perfect qualities. When exhausting everything, you must grasp the ground of reality. If you search elsewhere, you will never find it. The six antidotes for practicing reality are: Don't take high positions, stay in humble places. Don't be the leader of many, enter among the good. Don't seek fame, topple the mountain of arrogance. Don't expect your own victory, accept defeat with contentment. Don't look at the good and bad of others, look at your own good and bad. Don't be distracted by the objects of the six senses, look at the face of your own mind." "In this way, practice with six qualities will reach the essence. The teaching of the six certain instructions is: If you can pray with devotion and compassion," "you will surely realize the face of your own mind, and blessings will enter. If you know how to naturally relax in a state of non-doing," "you will surely clearly reveal the self-aware, non-dual wisdom as it is. If you know how to look at the face of dualistic conceptual thoughts," "you will surely be liberated in your own ground without fabrication. If you know how to place illusory appearances, grasping, and conceptual thoughts in their own place," "you will surely reveal the nature of self-clear, non-conceptual wisdom. If you subdue awareness with skillful means, the original ground of reality will surely reveal the unmoving, free from elaboration, spontaneously accomplished state.
