It is stable at the base and irreversible. Since various kinds of self-nature arise, the flesh and blood of attachment are cut off from the pursuit of causes and conditions (3). The basis of samsaric delusion is exhausted, and it is called the Great Primordial Purity. Since the characteristics of delusion are self-purifying, the path of delusional consciousness is exhausted. There are three divisions: Since delusion is eradicated, the nature of the logic of reversing samsara and nirvana is that the root of delusion, ignorance itself, is self-liberated, so the seal of primordial non-delusion has been attained, that is, it has transcended delusion and non-delusion. Since self-nature is individually deluded, the measure of the adventitious imputation is grasped, that is, it has transcended the object of grasping and being grasped. Since the characteristics of delusion are recognized, the temperature of non-delusional wisdom has been grasped. Since delusion is placed on its own, the nature of recognizing the non-delusional dharmata is that it was initially non-delusional, so the cause of ignorance has been severed. Since it does not abide in delusion now, the basis of karma and affliction is emptied. Since it is impossible to be deluded in the future, the extremes of good and evil deeds (1) have been cut off. Since self-nature is without distinction, samsara and nirvana are one basis in awareness, that is, delusion is self-purifying. Since there is no cause for delusion in characteristics, the three realms have been completely emptied. Since the basis of delusion is deceived, the nature of the wheel of delusion has been cut off, the basis for falling into samsara is empty, so it is deceived by the basis that has not been found(2). Since self-nature is beyond calculation, delusion and non-delusion are not established. Characteristics have been separated from the thought of delusion and non-delusion. Placing the bindu on its own essential point, its self-nature is unique and free from elaboration, so there is no one or many. Since self-nature is non-dual, it has transcended words and phrases. Since characteristics are recognized, faith arises and is decided. The divisions are: the oral transmission and the explanatory transmission. The oral transmission is the direct transmission of nature from one to one, so the relationship is close. Since self-nature is connected to the ear faculty, there is no interval. Since the characteristics are without error, they are endowed with faith and certainty. The divisions are the oral transmission with and without letters, all of which are pith instructions that fall into the meaning of words and phrases. The nature of the explanatory transmission is the self-arisen wisdom of the non-fabricated dharmata, without cause, so there is no basis for reversing in the three realms. Since self-nature is clear and without stain, the characteristics of the five wisdoms are known. Since characteristics have transcended conceptual discrimination, they constantly abide in the intention of the three kayas and five wisdoms. There are four divisions:

The section on outer, the section on inner, the section on secret, the section on the unsurpassed secret. Firstly, the nature of the outer section is that the afflictions cannot be abandoned, so the five poisons abide in taking the path. Since there is no self-nature of effort, whatever appears manifests as the nature of reality. Since there are no characteristics or aspects, emptiness is not separated from anything. The nature of the inner section is that there is no form or self-characteristic, so it is the nature of reality without characteristics. Since there is no coming or going in self-nature, it is the wisdom that abides eternally. The characteristic is that from the perspective of taking root, it arises like a root; from the perspective of gathering, it arises like a trunk; from the perspective of expanding, it arises like leaves; from the perspective of clarifying, it arises like a flower; from the perspective of ripening, it arises like a fruit. The nature of the secret section is that introduction and attainment of realization are simultaneous, so it does not depend on the three of hearing, contemplation, and meditation. The nature of ceasing breath and attaining Buddhahood are simultaneous, so it does not depend on diligence and the power of habituation. The characteristic of attaining Buddhahood and the arising of compassion are simultaneous, so it does not depend on the completion of the two accumulations. The nature of the unsurpassed secret section is that it does not rely on words, so it does not depend on the wisdom of conceptual thought. Since self-nature is known manifestly, it does not abide in the view of mental discrimination. The characteristic is that the four visions reach their limit, so one does not rely on the result of the three bodies and five wisdoms. Moreover, since it is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, it becomes manifest in this life. The nature of these is to be believed by scripture. As the Lamp Illuminating by Master Vimalamitra says: "The outer section is like the body, extensively explaining terminology." "The inner section is like the eye, what is seen is the Dharma of symbols." "The secret section is like the heart, what is remembered is the Dharma of essence." "This is like a person with a complete body." Thus, the Great Perfection, the four sections of the oral instruction division—outer, inner, secret, and unsurpassed—each have 22,000 reasons for expression, 3,350 chapters, 640,000 shlokas, 5,000 key points, 8 great branches, 180 minor branches, 9,000 obstacles, 70,000 distinctions, and 2,500,000 repetitions, the subject matter being equal to the extent of space. What was taught is the definitive oral instruction division. Thus, the three divisions of oral instruction are gathered into the three spaces.
