Furthermore, even those who commit the five heinous crimes and enjoy the activities of thieves can be liberated through this path, and will not be stained by sin. Thus it is said. Fifth, the bardo yoga has three aspects: training in the bardo, recognizing the bardo, and continuing the activity. First, without separating from the awareness of being in the bardo, recognize the clear light and meditate on it day and night. During the day, sit on a cushion and practice the guru yoga, praying to accomplish the bardo. Recognize this appearance as the appearance of the bardo, all beings as the beings of the bardo, eating, walking, sitting, and lying down as the appearance of the bardo, and awareness as the consciousness of the bardo. Do not have the thought of not being dead for even a moment. Think, "I am dead, I am in the bardo." Meditate on the clear light mahamudra as previously introduced. Since the previous awareness and the awareness of the bardo are one, and there is no difference other than the gathering of the elements, being accustomed to it now will allow you to recognize it in the bardo. If you are accustomed to it in this way, it will also happen in dreams and deep sleep, which will be beneficial in the bardo. At night, train with the key point of dream practice. Before going to sleep, practice the guru yoga and pray to accomplish dreams. Among the three aspects of recognizing, training, and meditating on the clear light of the bardo, the first is recognizing dreams. The key point of time is night. The key point of the body is the lion posture. The key point of focus is to focus the mind on the eyebrow center. Before falling asleep, entrust awareness to the red A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A) syllable, the size of a pea, in the center of the red four-petaled lotus at the throat. Think that you will recognize it as a dream in the dream and be able to grasp it. Each time you wake up, remember it in this way, and you will be able to grasp the dream. If you cannot grasp it, pray to the guru and accumulate merit. During the day, you should have a strong intention, and you will definitely be able to grasp it. At first, you will grasp it due to a rough shock, such as falling into an abyss. When you grasp it, you can transform into the body of a deity and various realms, transform into various magical powers, transform one into many, and many into one. Training is to practice the skill of illusion in the appearance of the dream. For water, fire, etc., can the fire and water of the dream harm anyone? It is an illusion, it is a dream. In every moment, do not forget the absence of reality and non-attachment.

It is also. To meditate on the clear light of the bardo, one should resolve that the dream itself is the bardo, and after practicing the skill of non-reality and non-attachment, one should meditate in the state of the clear light that has been pointed out. By doing so, one will become proficient in the appearance of the bardo and the clear light, without any difference between day and night. Second, recognizing the bardo: At the time of death, when earth dissolves into water, the body becomes heavy; when water dissolves into fire, the water in the mouth and nose dries up; when fire dissolves into wind, heat is absorbed; when wind dissolves into consciousness, the external breath ceases from overlapping. When consciousness dissolves into space, the two winds of upward and downward movement meet the A Hum (ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ,āḥ hūṃ,Ah, Hum) in the heart from the upper and lower ends of the central channel, and then one faints for a moment. When space enters the clear light, the first moment of the arising of the wisdom of appearance from the four wisdoms is a hundred times more blissful and clear than the clear light that was previously meditated on with effort of bindu. When a moment of no conceptualization of desire arises, recognize and meditate on it. Then, as appearance dissolves into increase, a wisdom that is even clearer than before, called increase, arises in two moments. That is the same as the previous habituation to life, but here the clarity and non-conceptualization are a hundred thousand times greater, so the conceptualization of hatred subsides. Recognize that clear light and meditate on it. Then, as increase dissolves into attainment, the non-conceptual wisdom, although it is the meditation that was not previously considered in the mind, is a hundred million times more non-conceptual, clear, blissful, and free from elaboration, and three moments arise. Recognize and meditate on that. That is the time when the conceptualization of delusion subsides. When attainment dissolves into the wisdom of near attainment, four moments of wisdom arise that are more blissful, clear, free from elaboration, and self-arising than before. All subtle and coarse afflictions temporarily disappear into the dharmadhatu like clouds dissolving into the sky. Recognize that the clear light Mahamudra, which was previously pointed out as being naturally pure at all times, is now arising, and in the moment of meditating in that state, Buddhahood is attained. As it says in the Praise of Names: In one moment, one can distinguish; in one moment, one can attain perfect enlightenment. And so on. At that time, the five elements of wind are purified in the dharmadhatu, and the appearance of self-grasping caused by the co-emergent clear light, as well as the ten signs such as smoke, fully appear.
