It does not go, and what has not gone will not go either. Apart from what has gone and what has not gone, walking cannot be known. Thus it is said. That which has already gone has no going, because it has ceased. That which has not gone has no going, because it is in the future. In between these two, the present step being taken, its earlier part has passed, and its later part has not arisen, so the present does not exist, therefore there is no going. The appearance of going in that which has no going is an illusion. Therefore, birth, abiding, and cessation should all be known as appearing but being without existence. From the Guhyagarbha Tantra: Emaho! Wondrous and amazing is the Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas. From no birth, all things are born. In the very moment of birth, there is no birth. Emaho! Wondrous and amazing is the Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas. In no abiding, all things abide. In the very moment of abiding, there is no abiding. Emaho! Wondrous and amazing is the Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas. From no going and coming, there is going and coming. In the very moment of going and coming, there is no going and coming. Thus it is said. With such teachings and reasoning, illusions are shattered like baseless empty images, and one should know that non-existence is merely clear appearance. General negation has two aspects: negation of the general and negation of the entity. The first also has two aspects: it cannot be different from the clear appearance, and it cannot be one with the clear appearance. The first is: if there is a general separate from each clear appearance, it is refuted because it cannot be identified as different from what can appear, and also on each clear appearance, it cannot be identified as 'this is the general' because it cannot be identified as what can appear. The general of the intermediate clear appearance does not exist, because it is not established as either being it or not being it. The second is that it cannot be based on one thing, like a vase, because there is no other clear appearance on it apart from the aggregation of the three causes. If the three causes of clear appearance and the three causes of the vase are aggregated, then the general would become many, because the many and the essence are one. Like a banyan tree connected to many vessels. That general would also become destructible, because it is one with the clear appearance of destruction. It would also become contradictory, because the general is black in the part that pervades charcoal and white in the part that pervades conch shells. The general would become two parts, destructible and indestructible, because the qualities of the two parts pervade space and vases, etc. If asserted, then one

Where does it exist? Everything will become everything, and a person will become livestock, because there is no difference between a person and a general concept, and there is no difference between a general concept and livestock. Refuting the body: Is the so-called body a limb? Or does it exist independently of the limbs? If it is a limb, it will become multiple; if it exists independently of the limbs, then it cannot be the totality of the limbs, because what is not a limb contradicts the totality of the limbs. Furthermore, observe from three contradictory points: if the totality is a limb, then there will be a contradiction of relying on the limb. When the face is painted with pigment and the foot is not painted, the foot will also be painted, because the painted totality is no different from the body. Similarly, there will also be a contradiction of relying on the body. When the hand shakes, all the limbs will shake, because the hand that is no different from the body is shaking. When the head turns, the whole body will turn, because the head that is no different from the body is turning. In the second case, the body also exists independently of the limbs, and if it exists, it should be able to be seen, but in reality it is not seen. There is also no body covering the outside of the limbs like clothing, because nothing other than skin is seen. There is also nothing inside, because no other body is seen other than the internal organs. Observing in this way, all generalities are fabricated and have no self-nature, so it is known that they are just figments of the mind. Therefore, the hand cannot be established when divided into three parts, the palm cannot be established when it becomes five fingers, the finger cannot be established when it becomes three joints, and finally, it cannot be established when it becomes a dust particle, so the so-called difference cannot be established in things, so the general and the difference become fabricated, thus knowing that it is a rootless self-nature. The Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra says: If the self exists in all the hands, etc., then how many hands, etc., there will be, there will be that many bodies. Similarly, because it is a collection of fingers, what is the hand? It is also a joint, and the joint can be divided into parts, and the part can be divided into dust particles, and the dust particle can be divided into directions. The direction is decomposed to the end without parts, just like space, so the dust particle is also non-existent, who will be attached to dreamlike form? The Sutra says: The complete purity of the body and the complete purity of space are...
