Also, because of not being subdued by intimidation, without fear and apprehension, one acts with great abandon. From now on, by transforming the autonomy over appearances, one can transform non-belief into belief, and the merits of being able to revive the dead will arise. If these actions are named, they are called the actions of transforming appearances, because the inner awareness transforms the outer appearances into the Dharma nature of spontaneous liberation. These are also as stated in the "Union of Sun and Moon": With the behavior like a bee, one tastes the flavors of all dharmas; with the behavior like a wild animal, one abandons the places that cause delusion; with the behavior like a mute, one completely abandons the aspect of delusion; with the behavior like a sparrow, one cuts through the doubts of secret mantras; with the behavior like a madman, one abandons the places of solitary dwelling; with the behavior like a lion, one abandons the mind of fear and walks in the charnel ground; with the behavior like a dog or pig, one abandons the discriminations of clean and unclean. So it is said. Secondly, the instruction of appearance-fixation is that by fixing on whatever appears, liberation occurs at the place of fixation. This is the method of appearance-fixation. By training on a part of a phenomenon, the image is completely purified. By training on the whole of a phenomenon, the nature is completely purified. This arises from the key point of fixation-liberation, vanishing at the place of seeing. In essence, whatever appears is decided on its own ground, so that the deluded appearance is purified into non-grasping. The key to this point is that by sealing all negation, affirmation, attachment, aversion, hope, and doubt with fixation, they vanish by deciding on their own. By practicing with a companion, it is supremely profound. Generally, there are four ways of liberation: Primordial liberation is like the sky, called liberation by the key point of being unbound. Self-liberation is like a knot in a snake, showing that without another antidote, it liberates itself. Arising liberation is like a wave, arising is self-liberation, not depending on the before and after of a moment. Fixation-liberation is like the moon in water, the seen appearance has no nature, and the seer vanishes without distinction, or like snow falling on a hot stone, liberating simultaneously at the place of seeing. In essence, on the appearance, awareness vanishes without trace or grasping, which is called fixation-liberation. These four ways of liberation purify whatever arises into training. Thirdly, the basis for the arising of mind and existence is that by practicing in this way, the power of arising liberation arises from the state of awareness, and the outer

And also liberation upon appearance. Appearance is the container, existence is the essence. For the two, the arising of appearances without interruption is called 'staring arising'; directly disappearing there is called 'staring liberation'. In that state, the clarity of arising does not harm abiding, and abiding does not obstruct arising, like the embrace of vast space, this is called the view of establishing the foundation of appearance and existence. At this time, afflictions are transformed into wisdom. The arising and increase of afflictions, in the place of arising, are naturally liberated, self-purified, and occur very quickly, therefore external appearances are placed upon it, and internal awareness is liberated upon it, this is called liberation in the lineage and the lord of the lineage. As it says in the "String of Pearls": "The aggregates, elements, and sense bases, are liberated in the lineage and the lord of the lineage." The yogi is also called practicing or abiding in the Dharma, because they abide in the Dharma of staring appearance and the view of establishing the foundation of appearance and existence. The yogi who takes action as the path has been explained. The fourth meaning is to make the result into yoga, there are three: the nature of the result is primordially pure, the instruction is awareness left as it is, and the view is that the three existences are primordially pure. Firstly, awareness is primordially pure, spontaneously accomplished, abiding in its own nature, Dharmakaya, the view is without separation, self-complete, stainless, completely pure, and always existing, this is the essence of the result. The lama introduces it, and one realizes it in that way, this is called knowing the nature of the result, not separating from it, and abiding in that state, this is called making the result into the path. That is, because one realizes that what is to be obtained is already present within oneself, there is no hope or fear, and one has the confidence of being at ease in one's own nature, this is called making the result into yoga. The result arises on the basis of the best intelligence. In the "Differentiation of Powers" it says: "The result is self-complete, free from aspiration, discrimination depends on time, and is completely a mistaken hope." There are three unchanging situations: the king who has seized the throne does not change, the minister who has been imprisoned does not change, and the people who have been afflicted by plague do not change. Firstly, recognizing that the result Dharmakaya abides in its own nature is called the king seizing the throne, when awareness, like a king, does not move from its throne of the Dharmakaya's own nature, it does not change due to delusion, because delusion is purified in its own place. The result of meaning does not revert to the cause, like the fruit of the soapberry tree. For example, the royal family in general
