Ra. It is just as it is said, "Even in a place, the forms of the eye are born from the mind that sees (those forms)." That is to say, when meditating, if the six gates of the senses are blocked and one falls into unconsciousness, then one has strayed into the meditation of delusion. If one meditates by blocking the six objects, even if there is mindfulness, because the objects are not clear, it is said to fall into one-pointed quiescence, which is the karma of being born in the formless realm, and so on. Even if objects appear, but without cutting through with view, merely abiding in clear awareness of emptiness is the karmic imprint of being born in the form realm, and so on. Therefore, it is important to know that awareness is without limit, and in a state where no grasping arises towards any appearance or consciousness, objects are clear and awareness is pure. This is the wisdom that is completely liberated from the three realms, and it is called the view that establishes appearance and existence as the basis. In order to help practice in this way, one should train in four sessions of meditation, cutting off the attachment to four things: food, clothing, dreams, and habitual tendencies. First, to cut off attachment to food, one should train in meditation sessions, such as taking essences and eating wind and mind as food, etc. Refer to the respective texts. Here, to briefly show the essence of eating wind and mind as food: In the morning, blow with three breaths, and thinking that all appearances are the sky, when the wind enters, think that a blue fire arises and fills the entire body. Join the upper and lower winds and hold them. This will purify the elements and one will not need food. Alternatively, at the tip of the heart facing upwards, imagine a white yogini of awareness holding a hooked knife, cutting the tip of the heart, and from the bhaga, a stream of white and red bodhicitta descends and fills it, and the whole body is filled with bliss, and then hold the breath in conjunction, which is the essential point. This will naturally cut off all attachment to food, and one will live day and night on the food of meditation. Second, to cut off attachment to clothing, one should train in meditation sessions, adopting the posture of a sage, and thinking that fire blazes from the ram(藏文,梵文天城体,ram, fire) at the navel, filling the body. Inhale the wind and hold it as much as possible at the navel. On an empty stomach, mix rock salt, coarse salt, potassium salt, white sugar, and yak gall into pills, and eat one pill the size of a meatball each time, and warmth and bliss will come like a burning fire. That is, the key is to first meditate on a small fire, and then gradually increase it. Third, to cut off attachment to dreams, one should train in meditation sessions.

There are two ways to train in dream yoga: observation and practice. The first is observation: slow down for a few days and massage during the day. Observe at night: if you dream mostly of what you are doing now, the habitual tendencies are very weak and easy to transform. If you dream mostly of things you were attached to in the past, it is moderate. If you dream mostly of places you have never been to and people you don't know, it is difficult to cut off. If all three situations are mixed in your dreams, it is called a mixture of three habitual tendencies, which is very difficult to cut off. The second is practice, which is divided into three: familiarization, transformation, and cutting off. The first is familiarization: during the day, recognize all appearances as dreams. At night, lie on your right side, focus your mind, and think that you must catch and control the dream tonight. Then, focus your mind on the sphere of light in your heart and fall asleep. This will allow you to recognize the dream as a dream in the dream. At that time, contemplate all phenomena of appearance and sound as dreams and illusions, and familiarize yourself with the state of emptiness without reality. If you cannot catch the dream, pray intensely to the lama, and generate devotion and pure appearances. During the day, walk in the dream and strive with burning diligence to familiarize yourself with the unreal. Therefore, when you dream of terrible scenes, such as being chased by a dog or an enemy, or being swept away by a flood, or a house about to be burned down, or about to fall off a cliff, think that you must stay awake in the dream no matter what. This will allow you to catch the dream. At that time, apply everything to the unreal. Then comes transformation: transform the appearances in the dream into the pure land of the Buddha and the mandala of the yidam, and transform yourself into the Buddha, etc., displaying various miraculous powers, such as transforming one into many, transforming many into one, transforming earth into water, etc. Finally, transform all phenomena into non-arising and practice. Then comes cutting off: during the day, cut off the proliferation of awareness on the appearances moment by moment, which will also appear in the dream. When the dream appears, recognize the dream, and in the state of non-arising, free from the realm of appearances, cut off the continuation of conceptual thoughts and practice. In whatever state you are in, the dream will naturally cease and be cut off. Your own being abides in the wheel of the natural state of reality. Habitual tendencies, the realm of delusion, and all grasping will naturally be pacified and dissolve into the dharmadhatu. This is the initial catching of the dream, the ability to use it in the middle, and the final dissolving into the dharmadhatu. Dream
