The merit of restoring it in this way is, as the Tantra says: The experienced one will realize the meaning of primordial purity. Thus it is said. The fault of not restoring it is as previously stated: If it is not restored, it will not be accomplished. Thus it is said. Now, in order to rely on the stainless wisdom lineage, one must abandon the nine activities of body, speech, and mind. In the Clear Expanse, it says: Abandon the nine activities themselves. And in the same, it says: In order to bring the manifest into the essential point, the outer, inner, and secret activities are: Abandon the nine activities with body, speech, and mind. Thus it is said. The actual abandonment of activities is, as it says in "After Death": Abandon all outer and inner activities. Thus it is said. In the Clear Expanse, it says: In order to abandon the activities of the body, one should abandon Dharma and worldly activities, and dwell alone without friends. For speech, one should learn to be like a mute, not speaking wrongly or engaging in Dharma activities. This is beyond the world, one should cut off movement and abide. Thus it is said. The merit of abandoning activities in this way is, as previously stated: The confusion of body and speech will cease, and one should abide in the continuum of wisdom. Thus it is said. The fault of not abandoning is, as previously stated: Because one does not abide in the unconditioned continuum, one cannot touch the meaning of awareness. Thus it is said. Now, in order to bring the manifest into oneself, one must tighten the key points of the body. In the Clear Expanse, it says: Even if awareness abides in the body, if it is not restrained by the illusory wheel, it cannot appear as the power of wisdom. Thus it is said. The actual tightening of the key points of the body is, as it says in "Beyond Thought": Moreover, this body should not always deviate from the three bodies. Thus it is said. In "After Death," it says: One should adopt the postures of an elephant, lion, and sage. Thus it is said. The merit of tightening the key points of the body is, as it says in "Beyond Thought": The posture of the Dharmakaya is the lion, from which all fear of confusion is separated, and one will be able to see with the vajra eye. The posture of the Sambhogakaya is, relying on the reclining of an elephant, enjoying all dharmata, one will be able to see with the lotus eye. The posture of the Nirmanakaya is, relying on the squatting of a sage, naturally emanating from dharmata, one will be able to see with the Dharma eye. Thus it is said. The fault of not tightening the key points of the body is, as it says in the Clear Expanse: If one does not tighten the key points of the body, one will not be able to control the winds that exhaust the elements, and likewise, heat will not arise in the body, and awareness will not be able to manifest. Thus it is said. Then, one must tighten the key points of speech, as it says in the Clear Expanse: Such speech
