One should know the distinctions. The hidden should be shown like opening the eyes. First, the general Dharma should be shown. First, the instruction on subduing appearances with the practice of non-attachment is: From the general Dharma, whoever practices in whatever way, abandoning the ten non-virtues of body, speech, and mind, practicing without violating the precepts and vows; practicing whatever one does with the attitude of non-attachment to everything, so that everything becomes Dharma; thereby attaining the temporary state of gods and humans and the ultimate state of enlightenment. Second, the instruction on subduing the mind that remembers with the meditation instruction without a target is: Here, the meditation that accords with the general Dharma is that the person who wishes to practice should abandon all worldly affairs in a secluded place and practice the guru's instructions. Although it is also the previously taught methods, here one should meditate by focusing on the mind. First, the posture of the body should be as before, and with the mind, one should recognize the arising of thoughts. Direct the gaze to the tip of the nose, and at first, do not relate to the thoughts. If listening in a quiet place, meditate on a single (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) within the body, and emit it from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet and all places in the body, making the body light and empty, and hold the mind. Then, all the tangible objects of the external earth, stones, mountains, and rocks should be pierced and sent out as light and empty. Then, all appearances should become immeasurable forms of (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum), and the inside and outside of the body should all be flickering like mirages, and hold the mind. Then, like seeking a friend and leading them onto the path, direct (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) to a piece of wood or stone in front and then gather it back. Based on that, practice in all places such as crooked lines, streams of water, and valleys, so that when a thought arises, one looks for the place where the thought arises, stays, and goes, but does not find it, and meditates by placing the thought equally in self-clarity and non-obstruction. View all subsequent minds as illusions or mirages. View the appearance of objects as dreams, recognize that awareness itself is that, and meditate, which will connect with Samatha and Vipassana, and will obtain the cause of Vipassana. Having become accustomed to that, third, the instruction on subduing afflictions with the view instruction without a target is: It is recognition, in general, the object

All appearances are the magic of the mind, because the true workings of thoughts are not understood, so the objects of grasping, such as form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and phenomena, appear in the external realm, but there is no truth there either. The maker, I, and Ishvara, etc., also do not exist, but clinging to things that existed before is a mistake. Now, the external objects of grasping are determined to be the magic of one's own mind. Internally, the clinging thoughts, the awareness that clings to the generalities of phenomena and their own characteristics. The knowledge of the six consciousnesses, awareness, awareness, moving, moving, this arises and ceases in an instant, and its own essence is emptiness. Even searching from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet cannot find it. The past has ceased. The future has not yet arisen. The present knowledge arises suddenly, and is recognized as the inseparability of appearance and emptiness. If there is no clinging to it, then that view is the intention of the Buddha. All the instructions of the Great Perfection Mind Series and the Space Series teach only this, so one should regard one's own mind as the Buddha. The inseparability of appearance and emptiness, that is the nature of reality. From here: This cannot be grasped by words. Words cannot fully express it. Therefore, the single space of non-knowing. There is no division into different things. This is separate from experience. Like the dream of a mute, the sunshine in a cloudless sky, the natural disappearance of a rainbow in the sky. Separate from base, symbol, and entity. This transcends all symbols. It is called knowledge, and by observing and understanding it, one obtains the fruit of the inseparability of the two truths. Fourth, by the instruction of the fruit of no abandonment and no attainment, the self-awareness is made irreversible: Thus, by practicing and understanding, if one attains anything, it is the meaning of all phenomena being empty and selfless that is attained. However one attains it, one attains the memory of being free from elaboration. Who attains it, it is the practitioner who attains it. The need for attainment is to attain the fruit of the three bodies of the equality of samsara and nirvana, thereby perfecting the two benefits, and these are in accordance with the general Dharma. In particular, the conduct, meditation, view, and fruit of this will now be gradually understood, but it should be understood that it is different from what was said above. First is the conduct: From here: All that appears and does not appear is an illusion, so do not analyze.
