If, because of the mind, the forms of the six realms of beings are different, but do not abide in this, then one cannot avoid the fault of one's desired actions and habitual tendencies being untrue. Because the connection of habitual tendencies is not severed, this can be understood through scripture and reason. Also, because the grounds and paths, etc., rely on the accumulation of habitual tendencies. Wisdom is accomplished through the wisdom of cause and effect being without trace. Although there is the practice of the path, etc., as a cause, the result does not abide on it, because it is without trace. For example, like writing on water. Furthermore, if one does not understand that the mind is empty and the body is material, then the emptiness of the basis of the three realms is impossible. This is established by the reason of there being no basis for severing the connection. The body is material, established as real, and the mind is empty. These are two roots. First, because the causes are different, there is also no connection of the cause being the same essence. If the cause were the same, then at the time of the separation of body and mind, just as the body abandons this material thing and becomes a corpse, if the mind also had material, then it would also become a corpse, because the mind does not have a material corpse. There is also no connection arising from that. Because the mind does not arise from the body, the mind does not appear as real. Because the body does not arise from the mind, the body appears as material. Furthermore, if the mind arose from the body, then one could not avoid the fault of the mind becoming material. If the body arose from the mind, then just as no one sees the mind, which is empty with reason, the body should also be unseen by anyone with reason, this is obvious. If it is said that there is no establishment in the ultimate truth, then in the ultimate truth, the assumption is that nothing is established in phenomena and individuals, etc. Therefore, if the body is composed of gross and subtle elements, and the mind is empty in nature, and these two, which transcend the object of recognition, have a connection, then for what reason is there a connection? This is also unreasonable in terms of intelligence. One cannot distinguish between material and non-material. One also cannot avoid the fault of the sky also becoming material. Therefore, the mind is also merely a designation, and the body is also merely a designation. Apart from that, there is no knowable connection between these two things, like the sky and an image. Therefore, for those who are close to the extreme of conceptualization and possess mindfulness, how do they grasp illusion and non-illusion? This is understood through the stages of wisdom. This is the content of the first part.
