The way of settling the mind is the view of the Heshang, which can never be reversed. Why? Because in the scriptures on settling meditation, it says, "Do not attend, do not think, do not contemplate, do not examine, do not meditate, do not be distracted, do not conceptualize," and this way of settling is not inconsistent with what was said earlier, either in terms of words or meaning. Therefore, in Tibet, what is most famous for practitioners is the general key points of Manas from Indian scriptures, and the entrance to Chan meditation of the Chinese Heshang, and these two are almost not inconsistent. Furthermore, the fundamental text of Mahamudra, the intention of Saraha's Dohas, is in accordance with the previous basis of practice, although in general there are many practices of Dharma, but the essence that should be explained at this time is, the emanation of the noble Avalokiteshvara, the wisdom vajra speech of the Lord Protector of Beings, Jigten Gonpo, said: "May I be blessed to recognize the innate nature of mind, and whatever path arises, there is no acceptance or rejection, and may I be blessed to manifest appearance and existence as the three bodies." This seems to be a thorough explanation of the immaculate intention of the Tibetan Mahamudra. In this way, the immaculate intention of the Dohas, and the qualified key points of the Mind Series of Dzogchen, all converge on one point, and cannot be regarded as different. However, later on, some people, using the Dharma as an excuse, mixed in many of their own fabrications, making the old key points of the past worse than milk adulterated with water in the market. Seeing these situations, their state is that the bad is that they have tampered with the key points of the Dharma, drifting on the precipice of inversion, and have become the secret language of demons; the good is that they appear like the traces of letters left by insects, which cannot be discerned, and there is no time to discern them, therefore, in this degenerate age (a page of scripture is missing here) I will impart the key points here. In general, in China, there are three main traditions: Heshang, Chan masters, and lecturers, and in addition, there seem to be many different sects. Among them, the Heshang is the pure Buddhist sect, while most of the others are similar to the externalist Samkhya and other sects, and some are even mixed with the sects of barbarians. Thus, the Chinese Heshangs
