May the descendants always enjoy! In this land surrounded by snow mountains, I have seen many debates about the purity and impurity of the Heshang (Chinese Chan Buddhist monk) doctrine. Therefore, in order to briefly describe the views of Heshang as I have heard and understood them, this work, called "The Virtuous Stream that Purifies the Stains of the Mind," was completed and recorded by the yogi without sectarianism, the wandering monk Tsewang Norbu Jamyang Gyatso's monastic community, Pal Kuntu Gyepa, in a meditation hut surrounded by forests near Jompalung Snow Mountain in Kongpo (present-day Nyingchi area) in the central U-Tsang Black Mountains, a place also known as Gawong or Mimar, on the third day of the waxing moon of the winter month of the Wood Rat year (Tibetan calendar). The scribes were the monk Karma Sherab Tenzin and the ordained monk Yeshe Paljor. Good! Good!
