Furthermore, to the envoys from border countries such as Na-bab, and between the king and ministers of Ladakh, whatever gifts and rewards needed to be bestowed, almost all were covered by the venerable one himself from his personal belongings. And on top of that, whatever was needed was supplemented from the gifts bestowed by the supreme government, without wasting even a thread. The venerable one offered to the supreme master of the Potala Palace and to the entire assembly of ministers in Lhasa, as tokens of appreciation, priceless upper-quality Hor silk garments, and gold coins Karshapana from India and Kashmir. In particular, in order to perfectly accomplish this virtuous deed, all the merits were dedicated to the supreme Gyalwang Rinpoche, and as an offering, a material mandala was offered, and along with the items bestowed by the government, they were returned together with a petition. This was because Gyalwang Rinpoche, for the welfare of all beings, had sent you to this place. In past letters, the area between Mar-yul and the Kara Ri of present-day Mussulman, and what Tibetans call Ladakh, was likened to the crystal of the hinterland. From entering the road to Mar-yul from Nepal, it has been nearly two and a half years until now. During this time, approximately nearly three hundred thousand people, with effort in the three doors, regarded the lineage of the Pratimoksha vows of the Madhyamaka school, the meditation and recitation of Great Compassion Avalokiteshvara, and the permission and the lineage of the water offering ritual, as the supreme Dharma giving. In addition, there were also very many who took the vows of fasting and the Pratimoksha vows, and the refuge vows, and nearly eight hundred people entered the gate of celibate lay practitioners. Most importantly, the conflicts between the rulers and subjects of Mar-yul were reconciled, and they were guided to live in harmony, laying the foundation for the peace of the snowy land, etc. To the best of one's ability, the roots of virtue of the four means of gathering were practiced, and all these merits were shared with all mother-like sentient beings who pervade the sky. With this, may I in all my lifetimes become a servant of the noble Avalokiteshvara, the executor of the activities of all the Buddhas.
