Do not despise or insult anything, but respect all good, bad, and middling things. The "Ten Wheels of Ksitigarbha Sutra" states: "Whether vows are taken or not, etc., even if my followers are weak, they are unmatched by a hundred ordinary people." Therefore, even if all unordained men and women cannot end samsara, if they take vows and then break them, it is said that when the Buddha appears in the world, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, etc., can attain their respective fruits. For example, if a hook is caught in the mouth of a fish in the water, it will be pulled ashore sooner or later. This is similar to this: once the seed of liberation, like a hook, is caught, it will surely be led to the shore of liberation sooner or later. Therefore, faith and pure appearance must be generated. Second, offering: it must be the antidote to both attachment and miserliness. Both offering and giving should be included in the category of offering. The key to offering is: field, intention, and object, the three being pure. Pure objects are divided into two types: owned and unowned. Unowned objects are explained in the "Great Secret Skillful Means Sutra," so before attaining Bodhi, all three owned bases must be offered. For these, through mantra, mudra, and samadhi, just as Vajradhara blesses them, offer all owned and unowned objects through the complete mantra, mudra, and samadhi, and represent them with actual wealth. Visualize the offerings emanated by the mind, such as the vast, sky-like offerings mentioned in the Samantabhadra's practices, lasting until samsara is empty, the activities of the Buddhas, with outer, inner, and secret offerings, becoming the objects of the six senses, visualizing them as clouds of offerings that generate stainless, special bliss. In particular, mind-emanated offerings are the way in which the mind itself manifests as a wish-fulfilling jewel, so they are especially excellent. Therefore, if the mind is generous, there will be no lack of enjoyment. Geshe Chen-nga-wa said: I initially used the incense of the Mongolian four-mixture

It is said that one will eventually offer incense worth five hundred gold coins each time, starting from ordinary incense offerings. As it says, "Abandon all offerings, and truly engage in offering to the Lama," offering to the Lama, the lord of all mandalas, is said to be particularly superior to all other offerings. Third, to confess sins, which is the antidote to hatred, one must have four powers. The power of the external support is to clearly visualize the field of merit. The power of the internal support is refuge and bodhicitta, but one only needs to contemplate the meaning, without reciting the words of refuge and bodhicitta. In terms of the power of regret, generate remorse for the six doors of sin to be purified. In terms of the power of restoration, make a vow not to commit them again in the future. The power of the antidote is all the antidotes to sin mentioned here. Fourth, the antidote to jealousy is rejoicing. When seeing, hearing, or remembering others performing virtuous deeds, do not be displeased or have competitive jealousy. One should rejoice in all the roots of virtue of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, their disciples, the Sangha of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, Vidyadharas, and all other individual beings. By rejoicing in this way, the virtuous roots of others will not diminish or be damaged, and one will also obtain them. As it says, "The Mount Meru of the three thousand worlds can be measured with a scale, but the virtue of rejoicing is not like that." What are the virtuous roots to be rejoiced in? They are all virtuous roots, both with and without outflows. In terms of their essence, all virtuous roots encompassed by ultimate truth are without outflows, and all virtuous roots encompassed by conventional truth are with outflows. In terms of the path, all virtuous roots of the accumulation and preparation stages are with outflows, and all virtuous roots of the seeing and meditation stages are without outflows. In terms of virtuous roots, all accumulations of merit are with outflows, and all accumulations of wisdom are without outflows. In terms of shamatha and vipashyana, the samadhi of the noble ones is without outflows, and all virtuous roots of the subsequent attainment are with outflows. In terms of companions, all virtuous roots grasped by conceptual and non-conceptual wisdom are without outflows, and all virtuous roots not grasped by these two are with outflows. There is no separation between shamatha and vipashyana, no separation between samsara and nirvana, and the view, meditation, and conduct of Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Madhyamaka.
