Regarding this, even through the nine successive vehicles of the path of liberation, one must generate the wisdom of realization in one's own mindstream, thereby attaining the fruit. Among these, according to the New Schools: Emptiness is meditated upon by the Shravakas, its fruit is cessation. They consider that there is no high or low in view. However, according to the Ancient Mantra School, there is high and low in view, although Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are not without wisdom, their wisdom is very limited. Bodhisattvas, through realizing the view of the Perfection of Wisdom, their wisdom is not limited but great, or the view is high, therefore there is a very great difference between the wisdom of Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas. Regarding this, first, Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas should seek a Khenpo or Acharya who possesses all the characteristics, motivated by the thought of renunciation, take the vows of individual liberation, and practice the three superior trainings, thereby attaining the state of liberation. The chief or essence of all paths is wisdom, and discipline and samadhi are retinues, therefore, one practices the truth of the path with its retinue, rather than attaining the state of Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha Arhats solely through faith in the Guru and Khenpo. However, in the Sutra it is said: Shariputra, ultimate truth is to be realized through faith. If one thinks that one can realize the meaning of selflessness solely through faith, that is not correct. Because without faith there is no way to enter the path, faith is the opening of the door of all Dharmas, therefore, this is a scripture explaining that one must first have faith. It does not mean that one realizes Suchness solely through faith. Therefore, if one disrespects the Khenpo and Acharya who give one vows, it will obstruct the practice of the path, therefore one must have faith. Even without meditating on the Four Noble Truths, one cannot attain the Arhatship of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas solely through faith. Bodhisattvas, if they do not rely on an external guide, the Guru, the virtuous spiritual friend, and do not train their minds in the internal guide, loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, then they will not see the truth of the Dharma-nature on the path of seeing. Therefore, a spiritual friend should be peaceful, disciplined, extremely peaceful, possess superior qualities, be especially rich in scriptural understanding, be skilled in realizing Suchness, and be eloquent." } ] ============================================================

Relying on the loving nature that dispels sorrow and toil. Therefore, even if not a lama with ten qualities, one should rely with faith on a virtuous friend who is skilled in love, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, and until one has not studied the complete and ripening training of the bodhisattva path, which is like an ocean gathered by the six perfections, it is not said that one sees the truth of the nature of reality on the path of seeing through faith alone. If one harms the lama and loses faith, one will accumulate great sins, for it is said by the Thuba (Buddha): If someone has evil thoughts towards such a bodhisattva benefactor, then for as many kalpas as the number of evil thoughts arise, he will dwell in hell. Therefore, just as iron cuts iron, it destroys all previously accumulated roots of virtue, and from the small accumulation path onwards, one must accumulate merit. If one has devotion to see that spiritual friend as a Buddha and prays to him, then the wisdom of realization will arise in one's mind, which is not widely known. However, the great accumulation of merit is complete, for it is said: However, if someone is very pleased, then his fruit will increase even more. When a Bodhisattva enters the Mantra path, a vidyadhara (knowledge holder) should first receive the maturing empowerments of the three outer tantras from a qualified vajra master. Receive the lineage entrustment and subsequent permission of water and crest jewel, etc., and the five common vidya empowerments. By binding the continuum with pure vows, one practices the path. By meditating on yoga with signs and yoga without signs, when warmth arises in the support of practice, the lamp burns on its own, and signs such as rainbows appear, one obtains common siddhis by taking siddhis, and then one obtains siddhis equal to the gods of the desire realm. Then, without abandoning the body, one goes by means of miraculous powers to Mount Potala and so on. As soon as one sees the face of Avalokiteśvara and Mañjuśrī and so on, one immediately obtains the supreme siddhi, and after five or seven or sixteen lifetimes, one obtains the state of any of the three-family, four-family, or five-family Vajradhara. If one contradicts the lama vajra acharya, it will obstruct the siddhi.
