Even if one believes that offering to Buddha statues will naturally bring blessings, if the guru himself lacks wisdom and grasps the physical form as real, that too is because of impure appearance clinging, which turns into self-continuity. Therefore, self-continuity will not become the pure immediate cause for the arising of wisdom. As it is said, "Those who see me in form, and seek me in sound, those people are on the wrong path, they cannot see the Tathagata." That is how it is. However, it is said that (the guru) is an emanation of the Buddha, as it is said, "Do not grieve, Ananda, do not lament, Ananda, at the end of the five hundred, I will be a virtuous friend, and will accomplish the benefit of you and others." This is the common rule of Sutra and Tantra, to regard the guru as the Buddha. According to the uncommon ultimate meaning, this guru is the Dharmakaya of the Buddha himself. There are two proofs for this: reasoning and scripture. First, the reasoning is: the guru's mind, the ground-basis wisdom that is inseparable from profundity and clarity, whether realized or not, the Buddha whose essence is primordially pure, is the unconditioned Dharma that is constant and unchanging, is the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. As it is said, "The Buddhas are the gods of Dharma-nature, the guides are the Dharmakaya." Therefore, the Buddha Dharmakaya, which is inseparable from the ground and result, its function or manifestation, is the empty image, the guru's body, speech, and mind, appearing as the inexhaustible wheel of adornment, is the physical form itself. The essence of the physical form is the Dharmakaya, the manifestation of the Dharmakaya is the physical form. In reality, these two are inseparable, are the great equality, or the union Vajradhara, Samantabhadra, Vajrasattva, is the lord of all families and mandalas, is the vast wisdom that pervades existence and peace, is the key to the Buddha's Dharmakaya. Therefore, "The container world, I take refuge in the assembly of glorious gurus. Sentient beings, I take refuge in the assembly of gods and goddesses. Apparent existence, I take refuge in the assembly of glorious gurus." Therefore, the inner wisdom of meaning to be expressed is the guru's mind, is the Dharmakaya. In order to express it, the image of the guru's body, speech, and mind appears as the sign to be expressed. Therefore, the guru is established as the Buddha by the reasoning of Dharma-nature. The scriptural proof is: "This is the self-born Bhagavan.

Homage! Boundless meaning. Secondly, to know that everything done is the activity of the Buddha, there are two kinds of activities: common and supreme. The first has four activities: pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful. Among these, there are two: Dharma and worldly. First, if one does not know that all worldly customs are the activities of the Buddha, and thinks, "My lama is a Buddha, but his activities are not those of a Buddha," then there is a contradiction. Therefore, settling disputes according to worldly customs, reconciling beings who are not in harmony, and acting as a leader and great arbitrator should be considered pacifying activities. Accumulating wealth, dividing land, building houses, engaging in commercial trade, and all such activities should be considered increasing activities. Engaging in activities such as attracting men and women, even taking away hundreds or thousands of women each day, should be seen as magnetizing activities. Stirring up disputes and lawsuits, even slaughtering hundreds of animals each day, should be seen as wrathful activities. Furthermore, radiating white light to pacify the eight and sixteen great fears of disease, weapons, famine, etc., is a pacifying activity. Radiating yellow light to increase the six prosperities of life, merit, wealth, enjoyment, etc., is an increasing activity. Radiating red light to subdue the three realms, etc., through the four aspects of aspiration, is a magnetizing activity. Radiating greenish-black light to kill, expel, and destroy all enemies and obstacles, and all such activities, should be seen as wrathful activities. Secondly, the supreme activity is to show the paths of liberation, enlightenment, and the three vehicles to those to be tamed, and to establish them in the state of liberation and omniscience. Thirdly, to know that for oneself, the kindness of the guru is greater than that of the Buddha, we beings of the five degenerations, whom all past Buddhas could not tame, like a wandering spirit fallen between the nine levels of hell, the guru looks upon us with great compassion, and in order to take us in, manifests as Vajradhara Buddha wearing human skin, and although equal to all Buddhas in the qualities of abandonment and realization, for oneself, his kindness is greater than that of the Buddha. The benefit done by the guru is not done by the father, not done by the mother, not done by a loving friend, and no great leader famous for benefiting the world
