Mostly fall into the animal realm. As it is said. Such motivation must be abandoned, for if one clings to samsara, there is no renunciation. As it is said. Secondly, the motivation of a middling person is: Seeing the six realms of existence as the nature of suffering, the wheel of suffering like a pit of fire, like a Rakshasa island, like the edge of a razor. Liberating oneself from the six realms of samsara, seeking the peaceful state of a Hearer or Solitary Realizer, no matter how long the path taken, ultimately attaining the state of a Hearer or Solitary Realizer Arhat, but the long, short, or swift paths do not become the cause for attaining Buddhahood. When the Incomparable Lord Atisha was in Tibet, he had tea early in the morning, and when Gyalwa Dromtönpa (Dromtönpa Gyalwai Jungné) was in front of him, he said, "Ah Kha Kha." When asked, "What is it?" He replied, "In India, one of my students who is practicing Hevajra (Hevajra, Sanskrit: Hevajra) has entered the path of Hearer's cessation this morning." Dromtönpa asked, "How is it that Hevajra has entered the path of Hearer's cessation?" He replied, "If a person does not know how to practice with the right thought, Hevajra will throw him into hell, throw him into the preta realm, throw him into the animal realm, and even throw him into the realm of the Buddha. Therefore, the method of practice or thought is more important than the Dharma being practiced." Therefore, if one clings to self-interest, it is not Bodhicitta. As it is said. From all the highs and lows of future lives, saying "I am not afraid of death, I am not confused, a remedy, a remedy," and meditating, meditating, all of this comes down to the motivation being the thought of pursuing self-interest. Thirdly, the motivation of a great person is: The previous four all come down to the thought and action of pursuing self-interest, therefore, from this day forward, regard the thought and action of pursuing self-interest as an enemy, regard it as a fault, and refute it. Not for oneself, but for all sentient beings to be free from the cause and effect of suffering, not abiding in the two extremes, to attain the state of perfect Buddhahood, this vast motivation is the motivation of Bodhicitta. In order for Bodhicitta to arise in the continuum, one must practice contemplating kindness, remembering gratitude, etc., otherwise, the Lama also says things like "like the sky pervades," etc., and the disciple also just pretends to think, and both become dizzy, saying "Awa Re," and both stare blankly, with no meaning whatsoever, this is the current time.

Anyone who pretends to be a lama's disciple is likely to have no other qualities in their mind, let alone good thoughts. Therefore, one must first have the thought of recognizing one's own old mother as one's mother, remembering her kindness, wanting to repay her kindness, and wanting to place her in the state of omniscient Buddhahood. Now, the nature of the vast mind of bodhicitta is: having two aspects or two meanings is the nature of generating bodhicitta. As Maitreya said: "The generation of the mind is for the sake of others, desiring perfect and complete Buddhahood." Therefore, the first aspect or the first meaning is that compassion focuses on sentient beings, that is, wishing all sentient beings to be free from suffering and its causes; the second aspect or the second meaning is that wisdom focuses on perfect enlightenment, that is, one must think of attaining the state of perfect Buddhahood. Because love that is not mixed with compassion, and not mixed with love, even if one thinks for the benefit of sentient beings, if one does not generate the thought of placing them in the state of Buddhahood, it is only compassion; even if one thinks of attaining Buddhahood, if one does not think for the benefit of sentient beings, it does not surpass love. Therefore, wishing all sentient beings to be free from suffering and its causes, and thinking of attaining the state of perfect Buddhahood, that is it. Then, when meditating on such a mind, how should one do it? First, meditate on one's own root mother, and then gradually meditate on the expanse of space. First, like this, how far does space extend, sentient beings extend; how far do sentient beings extend, the suffering of karma and appearances extends. All sentient beings pervaded by the suffering of karma and appearances, from beginningless time, there is not a single sentient being who has not been one's parents and relatives. Among them, there is not a single sentient being who has not been a mother. When one has not been a mother, there is not a single sentient being who has not been cared for with great kindness. Just like the present mother, one has been a mother countless times, because I have been wandering in samsara from beginningless time until now, so in a place only the size of a palm, one has been born countless times, and there is no place where one has not died. Therefore, except for hell and most of the heavens, one is not born without a mother, and it cannot be determined whether there is a single sentient being who has not been a mother, so all sentient beings have not only been a mother once, but have been a mother countless times, one must know the boundaries of the mother, etc. Remembering kindness is special.
