The daughter was named Udumbarika. Another Brahmin's son, who was ugly in appearance and had eighteen bad characteristics, and whose name was Ugly, even though his father did not allow him to study, went to that Brahmin and studied. Before long, he learned everything that the Brahmin knew. The Brahmin teacher thought, "Even though this person is ugly, he has learned everything from me, so I cannot fail to do as I vowed before.
