As they had discussed, they deceived with lies, and then reported to the king, saying, "Bring the Brahmin and the two children in." When the king, queen, ministers, and everyone saw the two of them, they all looked in amazement. Then the king asked the Brahmin, "How much are these two children worth?" Before the Brahmin could speak, the boy reported, "I, the boy, am worth ten thousand silver coins and one hundred cows. The girl is worth ten thousand gold coins and two hundred cows." The king said to the boy, "According to worldly customs, men are as precious as jewels among people, why is the boy's price low, and the girl's price high?" The boy reported, "Unlike the palace maid who is close to the king, a lowly slave is treated as a maid, because the king likes her, so he respects her, makes her noble, dresses her in precious clothes, and feeds her with a hundred delicious dishes. Even though he has only one son, he abandons him on the mountain, but strangely plays and amuses himself with the palace maid, even when playing, he does not care about his son at all. Therefore, it is obvious that the boy's price is low, and the girl's price is high." When the king heard these words, he became even more unhappy, and sadness arose, and he shed tears and said, "I am so harmful, why don't you come into my arms? Do you dislike me, or are you afraid of this Brahmin?" The children said, "We neither dislike the great king, nor are we afraid of the Brahmin. We have heard that the great king's nephew has now become a slave of men, and nowhere is there a rule that a slave of men sits in the king's arms, so we dare not." When the king heard these words, he was even more grieved, and according to what the boy said, he paid the Brahmin the ransom and took the two children into his arms. The king stroked the two of them with his hands and asked, "When you lived on the mountain, what food did you eat? What clothes did you wear?" The two children said, "The food is fruits and the fruits of the trees. The clothes are animal skins and coarse cloth. Playing with many birds, we have no sad feelings." Then the king said to that Brahmin, "Go outside."

Having spoken, the two sons pleaded with the king: "This Brahmin is greatly afflicted by hunger and thirst, please satisfy him with food." The king said: "I intend to give food because I have no dislike or resentment towards you." The son said: "My father delights in the path of Bodhi, so he does not give material possessions. The alms that I beg for through my actions are also the possession of the master who owns us. Even allowing him to do the work of using us has not been according to the father's intention from the beginning. There is not even a little compassion for him, and who can bear to see him staying hungry and thirsty? My father even gives away his son to others without feeling impoverished, would the great king be stingy with just one person's food?" After saying this, the king also gave the Brahmin sufficient food, and the Brahmin happily returned to his country. After that, the king sent a messenger to summon the prince, and he went to the prince. There, he finally escaped from the water by thinking of the prince, and arrived in front of the prince, conveying the king's command: "Please, Prince, return to your own country." The prince said: "Initially, the king ordered me to stay in the mountains for twelve years, and there is still one year left. I will go when the twelve years are complete." The messenger returned and reported to the king, and the king himself wrote a letter with his own hand and entrusted it to the messenger, instructing him thus: "You are a wise and intelligent person among men, so you can endure going and you can endure coming. Why are you angry and unwilling to return? We need to eat and drink with you, come quickly." So he sent a messenger to summon him. The prince took the messenger's letter, placed it on his head, paid homage, circled it seven times, and immediately prepared to return to the country. There, when he departed from that mountain, the wild animals and beasts of prey living on the mountain heard that the prince was leaving, and they all threw their bodies on the ground, rolled on the ground, and uttered cries of weeping. The springs also dried up, and the cubs of the beasts of prey and wild animals were also powerless. Many birds also uttered sounds of compassion. After that, the prince put on his clothes.

When returning to the homeland with the consorts, the king of the enemy country, upon hearing that the prince was returning, adorned a white Nepalese elephant with a golden saddle, filled golden vessels with silver coins, and silver vessels with gold coins, arranging them to welcome the prince. After welcoming the prince, the king made this request: 'Due to my ignorance, I caused the prince to leave by demanding the Nepalese elephant. Now, I am filled with regret and beg for forgiveness. Now that I hear the prince is returning, I am delighted and offer this very Nepalese elephant again, along with the gold and silver coins. Please accept these and absolve my faults.' The prince said, 'For example, if someone gives another person food with a hundred flavors, and that person eats it and then vomits it back onto the ground, would that vomited food with its foul odor be good? Likewise, I do not want back what I have given away. Messenger, ride this Nepalese elephant and return to your own country! Greet the king in this way, saying that I am very pleased that he welcomed me and spoke sweetly with joyful words.' And so he did. Because of that Nepalese elephant, those fighting enemies developed loving and affectionate feelings for one another, and the king and all the people of the country became of one mind. At that time, the father king rode the Nepalese elephant to welcome the prince. The prince bowed his head in prostration and followed the king back to his homeland. All the people of the country were overjoyed, adorning the ground with offerings of flowers and so on, sweeping the ground clean. After the prince came into the palace, he went to his mother, bowed his head in prostration, and inquired about her health with joyful words. Then, the king entrusted all the treasure vaults of jewels to the prince, allowing him to give freely as he wished, and he had him give alms continuously, even more than before. Thus, the father and mother of the Blessed One, who became Prince Siddhartha, are now King Śuddhodana and Queen Māyā, and the consort of that time was Yaśodharā.

The monk Achuta was the son of Mogala. At that time, Indra was the present Shariputra. The hunter of that mountain was Ananda. The boy Yari was the son of Rahula. The one who became a daughter was Sujata. The Brahmin beggar was Devadatta himself. The Brahmin's wife at that time was the present Brahmin woman Jamjamyan, so it was said. Furthermore, similarly to this, the Blessed One himself, as the son of King Sarvajaya of the Shibi country, named Crown Prince Sarvatrata, bestowed whatever was desired upon beggars. There was a supreme elephant of incense, like a mountain of snow. When a Brahmin sent by the King of Sunlight begged, it was given, and therefore all the people of the country were displeased. After reporting to the king, the king only outwardly forbade banishment to the forest. Queen Madri, the young son Jalin, and the daughter Krishna Ajina, together rode in a chariot and left. On the way, the four horses pulling the chariot were given to a Brahmin beggar. The Bodhisattva himself pulled the chariot. Four young yakshas transformed into the form of red wild animals and pulled the chariot, and the queen was very happy. Afterwards, on the road, a Brahmin begged for the chariot, and after it was given, the son was pulled by the father, and the daughter was pulled by the mother, and they went on foot. The yakshas, in order to relieve the Bodhisattva's fatigue, shortened the road and arrived at a place where the mountain ridge could be seen. There, by the command of Indra, various craftsmen built pleasant houses of leaves, lived there, and the wife served, and they practiced asceticism for about half a year. There, a Brahmin from a distant place sent his own wife to find a servant, and promised to give away two sons. Upon hearing this, the two sons were frightened and their eyes widened. The Bodhisattva, with a heart aching from the force of compassion, said: Sons, it is not that I do not love you, but for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi, do not be unhappy that I give you away. He said to the Brahmin: Although I have given you these two, their mother has gone to the forest to look for roots and fruits.
