and others who were previously commissioned by the great assembly, and who each promised with the constant voice of the gods, holding in their hearts the commitment to protect and guard the sacred Dharma and its retinue. To all the noble Dharma protectors who abide in the manner of the worldly and the transcendent, I respectfully prostrate. I take refuge. To all the noble assemblies, I offer bathing water and fragrant water, flowers and incense, food and lamps, music and cymbals, umbrellas and banners, and so on, whatever is actually available, as well as unclaimed objects in the ten directions, and all the perfect and abundant instruments of happiness for gods and humans, and the power of dharanis and vidyas, and that which is generated by the power of devotion, and that which arises from the aspirations of the conduct of the Noble One, all the oceans of offering clouds, filling the endless expanse of the sky, causing all that belongs to the realm of Dharma to increase and be filled, I offer and give. May all the noble assemblies heed. We follow and learn from the Buddhas of the three times and their retinues, and in order to liberate beings threatened by many sufferings in the ocean of samsara, and to establish them in unsurpassed bliss, we solemnly vow. Now, in this mandala of the palace adorned with the supreme of offerings, we invite all the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues, and all those who possess the commitment of Dharma protectors, to gather here. We recite the dharani called "The Immaculate Manifestation of the Light of the Crest Jewel of Universal Entry, Observing the Essence and Vow of All Tathagatas." We perform and offer the one hundred and eight offerings of the Dharmakaya of the Tathagatas in accordance with the Dharma. We recite and offer the Bhagavati Prajnaparamita, the Sublime Golden Light Sutra, the Great Collection Jewel Crest Sutra, the Jewel Peak Sutra, and other Mahayana sutras, as well as the profound and vast scriptures. As the beginning of the great assembly, we pray that all harm and suffering of so-and-so and many other beings be pacified, and that they obtain benefit and unsurpassed bliss.

I pray to you to be the protector and helper in accomplishing great deeds. Those who possess the power and glory of the noble ones, and inconceivable compassion, please, according to the special aspirations of the past and the power of good vows, think with compassion on those poor and afflicted beings who pray for refuge. We, the Sangha, recite the Mahayana sutras and the profound and vast Dharanis, and take the ritual of building the stupa of the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata as the starting point. In this mandala of the palace where offerings are gathered, we make a great gathering and receive offerings and bless as the ritual prescribes. Now, too, please complete the ritual, bless and determine the suchness of Dharma, etc., through various skillful means, so that the door of liberation of all the noble ones may be completely fulfilled. Please bless that the suffering and harm of all sentient beings, such as so-and-so, together with their causes, may be purified and pacified, and that they may immediately attain the supreme benefit and happiness, and that all may be accomplished as desired, and grant the supreme accomplishment. In the past, the Blessed One, out of compassion for the immaculate Jewel Heart Son of the Gods, said in the Glorious Song: 'Lord of the Gods, the light that enters from all doors, appears as an immaculate crown. To look upon the essence and vows of all the Tathagatas, this is a pair of Dharani mantras called. This mudra is spoken and rejoiced by the Tathagatas of the sixteen billion two hundred million sands of the Ganges River. Just hearing or seeing this Dharani mantra will liberate one from all fears of sin, obscuration, hell beings, animals, and evil destinies. All karmic obscurations of the past will also be completely destroyed. All hells will also be destroyed, just as fire burns the roots and wind scatters the ashes.'

Drive them far away. Likewise, at the end of lifetimes, burn all accumulated sins. For example, when rain falls, the water flowing down from the mountains will wash away all the garbage and dirt on the ground. Similarly, merely seeing and hearing this dharani will eliminate sins. For example, when gold is refined by fire, it becomes soft and can be cut at will. Likewise, merely through recitation, the body can be purified, without a doubt. For example, when the sun rises, its rays will shine everywhere. Similarly, whoever holds this dharani, their body will also become beautiful. For example, a thirsty fish struggles, heading towards death because it is separated from water. If someone finds water again, they can dwell there and reach the peak. Similarly, merely through remembrance, people's lives can be prolonged. Write down this dharani mantra, and place it inside any stupa, whether new or repaired. Create a mandala of incense, and scatter flowers. Fumigate with agarwood and Turushka incense. Likewise, prostrate to all the Tathagatas and recite one hundred and eight times. Build one hundred and eight stupas. If this essence is written down and placed inside a stupa, it will be as if the relics and remains of the Tathagatas, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, ninety-nine billion hundred million kotis, are placed inside each stupa. If one reveres this and performs the work of building stupas, one can recover from a depleted lifespan and be connected to longevity. If death comes, one will abandon the body like a snake shedding its skin and be reborn in Sukhavati. One will not experience the suffering of death, nor will one fall into the lower realms. Thereafter, the sounds of hell and other such realms will not even be heard, let alone the ripening of fruits; that is impossible. Those afflicted by illness, harmed, with depleted lifespans, fearing untimely death, and those fearing and frightened by kings and enemy armies, and those who desire children, should manifest the mandala. Bathe with five peacock feathers. If this ritual is performed once, one will be freed from the karmic obscurations accumulated over millions of kalpas. All diseases

And, may (they) be liberated from all afflictions, all evil destinies, and all fears. Suffering, obscurations, sins, harms, and everything worldly and beyond worldly will be utterly destroyed. Even those who have been emaciated by prolonged illness will have their bodies become complete and pure. Wishes will also be fulfilled as desired. All those who have spoken with this (mantra) will also be liberated from sins. Even if recited to those who have been born as animals, they will be liberated from all animal realms. Even if recited to dogs, turtles, snakes, cats, mongooses, and various creatures, all will be completely liberated. Having recited twenty-one times on sand, and then scattering it in a cemetery, wherever the bones are touched, those beings will be completely liberated from being born in hell and will be born in the heavens. For those who have been born in the heavens, a rain of flowers will fall on their bodies. All the beasts and flocks of birds that go to that cemetery will also go to happy migrations. If scattered on a mountain, all the wild animals and birds that roam on the mountain will go to happy migrations. If recited a million times, even if someone is tied by a rope from the neck and led away, they will immediately return from the realm of Yama. (They) will be liberated from the great destruction of life. All hell beings will also be utterly destroyed, without doubt. Even the Dharma King Yama will regard and stay like a servant. The color of the skin will become like the color of gold. Certainly, (one) will immediately become irreversible. (One) will abide in the ten bhumis. (One) will receive prophecy. Even being touched by the shadow (of the mantra) will be completely liberated, what need is there to mention doing many things? Its benefits are immeasurable. Such as these, all the immeasurable benefits that have been spoken of, please bless that so-and-so, etc., may immediately obtain and manifest (them). If this dharani is taken as a hand symbol, the great Yaksha general Vajrapani, the Four Great Kings, Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshvara.
