Thus, the compassion of the mind of bodhicitta should be contemplated, and the generation stage of Vajrayana should be clarified. In terms of conduct, bathing and cleanliness, as well as abstaining from meat, alcohol, garlic, onions, etc., are mentioned in the scriptures. In the Action Tantra, there is only self-generation of the deity, but for special cases, self-generation is mentioned, so practice Shakyamuni Buddha or Avalokiteśvara. Secondly, regarding the vessels for offering, impure things such as horns, skulls, yak hide, etc., small, broken, bottom-leaking, and dirty things, iron utensils and those with salt and alkali, and cane-like utensils should all be abandoned. According to one's own wealth, gold, silver, red copper, conch shells, fish bladders, pottery, wood, porcelain, etc. should be selected. The shape of the vessel should be large, the mouth should be wide, and the size should be moderate. It is said in the scriptures that the larger it is, the greater the merit. The food inside should be free from meat, alcohol, radishes, poisons, and foods mixed with sins. Superior foods should be offered, namely the three white foods (milk, yogurt, butter) and the three sweet foods (honey, brown sugar, rock sugar), and at the very least, tsampa and water should be offered. Jowo (referring to Atiśa) said that there will be no rich people in Tibet because the tsampa offerings are thin and wiped with the thumb. Guests of the food offering will not visit things that are dirty, so abandon the above three. The accomplished Laje Gompa only mixed grains and pure water, saying that it is convenient to hold in the hand. Acarya Atiśa recited the mantra seven times, stretched out the five fingers of his right hand, and nectar dripped from the fingertips. The tsampa mixed with water, each pinch equivalent to a Magadha's worth, five karmas in total, was eaten with satisfaction, and the waist drum was struck three times. As such, it should be judged according to the situation and reason. The amount of tsampa should be easy to divide and enough for oneself to eat. In terms of size, it can be as large as Mount Meru, as large as the ocean, or as small as a bean. A lump of tsampa or a handful of water is fine, and it should be done according to one's own wealth. The great accomplished Karma Pakshi said that all activities depend on the torma, so it is not enough to use just a little alcohol and tsampa, it must be piled up like a mountain and filled like the sea. The torma's accomplished Lama Laje Gompa, even relying on a little barley tsampa, could continuously perform a hundred heart mantra recitations without interruption. Sometimes, even if there was only a spoonful of yogurt for the practice accumulation, he could perform the practice of a hundred thousand tormas, and immediately obtain immeasurable enjoyment. It is said that the earth deity therefore violated the oath. It is said that the goal is the main thing, and the object is secondary.

From now on, dry offerings without containers are not allowed. Water is the stream of nectar that quenches thirst, food is the sustenance of life that relieves hunger, and containers are the vessels that hold them. Therefore, it is necessary to have the right materials, quantities, and interdependent relationships. How much do the pretas receive? It is seven measures of Magadha, and each measure is equivalent to four loads of gold measures, and four measures are said to be equivalent to a dou of wheat. It is said that this is the power that only mantra power can increase, and the power of samadhi can increase to an inconceivable extent. The third point is the guests who serve the Three Jewels, the compassionate guests of the Protector, the six qualities, the blood feud, and the karmic debts are called the four guests. The first two come when invited, and do not come when not invited, and even if invited, they do not come. Among the six realms, there are yakshas holding clubs, long-armed ones, mountain-topped ones, throat ones, and constantly drunk ones, fearing the pouring of the ocean and the collapse of Mount Meru, those who protect the continents from the top of Mount Meru, and those who are extremely drunk, these four. The four guests who cannot be invited are: the earth lord, the powerful one, the two Shri Patras, the fierce nagas and pretas, and the four treasure guardians. If they go elsewhere, it will cause earthquakes, see bags full of diseases and vomit, and poisonous substances, and if the treasure vase is lost, it will cause famine. Even if they are not invited, they will come, the pretas are like honey to meat, and they will gather as soon as they are set out. The distinction here is between the place of offering and the place of giving. If one distinguishes from that, although it is inconceivable, the practice of the lineage is divided into twelve types: first, the guru, yidam, and mandala assembly, second, the Dharma protectors of the wisdom deity, third, the Dharma protectors of the worldly deity, fourth, the Brahmins, sages, and accomplished ones, fifth, the co-born gods, etc., are the places of offering. The co-born demons and the six realms, seventh, the nagas, eighth, the pretas, ninth, the debtors, tenth, the general four lords, eleventh, the four lords of each place, and twelfth, those who vow to break their vows, have not obtained power, and suddenly arrive, etc., are the places of giving. The first category includes the supreme Three Jewels, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and noble ones, etc., gathering all the places of refuge, with the merit of offering to them, with the iron hook of compassion.
