When asked if meditating on the meaning of non-origination is profound and as solid as a vajra, making realization difficult, Rinpoche replied that the essence of Atma-garbha-dho (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) is the most supreme jewel, and such a situation would not occur. Practice at Chimphu in Samye. This is also the meaning of the spontaneous arising of nature. How does one meditate on the empty expanse mentioned earlier, the co-emergent Samantabhadri, or the Great Mother Prajnaparamita? Gyalwa Yang Gonpa said: Do not meditate on primordial awareness with the mind of intellect. Do not alter spontaneity with fabrication. Do not regard intellectual thought as an obstacle. Do not deliberately meditate on non-thought. Let the mind rest in its own nature, and relax the body. This will lead to the attainment of the state of shamatha and vipashyana. He also said: The movement of intellectual thought is the door to abiding. Recognizing one's own face is the key to practice. The mind without grasping is the expanse of realization. The arising of various phenomena is the door to awareness. In this naked clarity and emptiness free from thought, abide in it and contemplate the expanse. This will lead to the integration of meditation into the state of vipashyana. To avoid being reluctant to repeat the explanation, the method of leaving the mind uncorrected and abiding in its own state is: Do not think about what to do beforehand, and do not remember what to do afterward. The so-called "knowing Soma" is to let the present mind abide in its natural state. Whether good or bad thoughts arise, do not change them. By looking at its nature in its uncorrected state, this empty and silent movement is shamatha. Even if coarse thoughts cease, there are still many subtle thoughts that have not ceased, which are also very difficult to perceive. At first, it seems that many thoughts arise, but thoughts are the function of awareness, so there is no fault. If distraction is very strong and cannot abide at all, then use whatever method is convenient, such as cutting off what arises suddenly. The extremely subtle movement, from the beginning to the transformation, is like a hand slipping, clearly seeing the nature of awareness, which is called vipashyana. By continuing to meditate in this way, various high and low experiences will arise. Sometimes there will be a happy, clear, and non-conceptual experience that is pleasant. Sometimes the mind cannot abide and feels restless. Sometimes it is clear but not obvious, and it is dark. Sometimes it is aware but seems unaware, as if it has disappeared. Even so, do not be discouraged, but increase your mental strength, because by looking at this mind

May the blessings of all Buddhas enter, benefiting one's own continuum. May all accumulations be complete, all paths be cut through at once, and all fruits be primordially perfect. Decide that there is nothing deeper than guarding the nature of one's own mind from anything else. If the perfectly enlightened Buddha remained in samadhi in a single lotus posture for six years on the banks of the Nairanjana River, then present-day practitioners should meditate when they have free time, and if they don't have free time, they should abandon it. Generate the strength of mind to think, 'I must exert myself.' First, hear the Dharma; in the middle, contemplate the meaning of what you have heard; and finally, you must meditate on the meaning of what you have contemplated. Entering the Dharma without meditation is of no benefit. As it says in the Ornament of the Tree Sutra: 'This teaching of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, cannot be accomplished by merely hearing. For example, like the Ganges River, the powerless are carried away by force, like drying up and dying, so it is with Dharma without meditation. Just as giving food and drink to many beings, one dies of hunger, so it is with Dharma without meditation.' And so on, many things are said. The benefit of meditation is, as it says in the Sutra of Manifesting Reality: 'Shariputra, more meritorious is meditating on reality for just a moment than listening for a kalpa.' Also, the teacher Shri Singha said: 'If one gives the bodies of all beings as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, whatever great merit that may be, it is not equal to a moment of meditation. If one saves the lives of all beings as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, it is not a fraction of a hundred thousandth of single-pointed meditation. Filling the three thousand worlds with precious stupas, whatever merit that may be, it is not equal to a fraction of meditation. Giving heaps of precious jewels to all beings, that root of virtue is not equal to a fraction of samadhi. The merit of meditation is beyond measure.' As it is said, through experiencing through meditation, the first experience is the single-pointed, illusory-like experience, like a great fire spreading through a forest. The second experience is the one-taste of emptiness, like snow falling into the ocean. The third experience is the experience of non-elaboration, like the sky arising, like the sun rising in the sky. Then, the method of taking the three poisons as the path is, in the Root Sutra of Whispered Transmission, it says: 'The nature of anger is the clear, self-luminous radiance.'
