Understanding the nature of mind. Looking at it, no shape or color is established, that is emptiness, the nature of mind. Empty in the midst of clarity, clear in the midst of emptiness, the union of clarity and emptiness is the essence of mind. Likewise, the essence of mind, emptiness, is the Dharmakaya, the nature of clarity is the Sambhogakaya, and compassion manifesting in various ways is the Nirmanakaya. In front of the refuge field, the wisdom beings, one's own mind inseparable from the three bodies, if one recognizes one's own nature and abides in non-duality, that is sufficient. If one says that since one already possesses all the refuge places within oneself, there is no need to cultivate the refuge field in front and take refuge, that is not correct. After cultivating the refuge field, it is absolutely necessary to take refuge. Now, abiding in the nature of one's own mind, this essence of the three bodies, one must rely on the two accumulations of merit and wisdom in order to be separated from all obscuring defilements and realize it directly. As it is said: In the Heruka Galpo it is said: "The vehicle of the causal characteristic knows the nature of mind as the cause of Buddhahood; the vehicle of the resultant mantra cultivates the nature of mind as Buddhahood." Thus it is said. When one realizes that the guru, one's own mind, and the Buddha are inseparable, that is the time when the result manifests. But even now, one should take refuge in the state of knowing inseparability. In front of those refuge fields, with "ཧོཿ" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, meaning "astonishment"), expressing the meaning of wonder or in a rare manner, offering the seven-branch offering, which are: Confessing sins (1), making vows (2), generating bodhicitta (3), prostrating (4), offering the body (5), making aspirations (6), offering the tsok (7), and the branch of praise (8), totaling eight branches. If one asks why the treasure text speaks of seven branches, but the number becomes eight, what is the reason? Offering with desirable objects such as tsok is general, offering the body is specific, so the general and specific are combined and counted as the branch of offering, so it is determined to be seven branches. The other branches are easy to understand, but offering the body needs to have three necessities: As it is said in the Vajra Sequence: "To the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, and the powerful present Buddhas, and the sentient beings of future nature, the body is offered for three necessities, because there is excellence, it becomes a vessel." Thus it is said. Offering the body to the Buddha, the ultimate result is

The necessity of obtaining benefits: 1. The necessity of receiving blessings by offering the body to the Lama. 2. The necessity of transforming into a disciple in the future by offering the body to sentient beings. 3. Furthermore, the Buddhas of the past, the gone-beyond ones, the masters of sutras and tantras, and the present Buddhas, the glorious and noble Lamas, the lords of a hundred families, all sentient beings with the essence of the Sugata-garbha, are the Buddhas of the future. All three places are fields for accumulating merit, as stated in the ritual of the secret Vajra activity of the teacher Buddha. Moreover, according to the early translation of Kama (teachings), the seven branches are: Prostration, 1. Taking refuge, 2. Offering, 3. Confession of sins, 4. Rejoicing, 5. Generating the mind of enlightenment, 6. Offering the body, 7. Dedication of merit. 8. Prostration and taking refuge are counted as one branch, making it seven branches. Furthermore, the seven branches of Bodhisattva vows, which are spoken in agreement in the Yoga Tantra 'Manifestation of Enlightenment', the Anuttara Tantra 'Samputa', and the Vajra Tent, are: Firstly, the object of the sevenfold offering, the Three Jewels, etc., one verse. One verse for confessing sins separately. 1. Rejoicing in the virtues of beings, etc. 2. Holding the mind of enlightenment, such as the enlightenment of the Buddhas, etc. 3. The verse 'Buddha, etc.' is the refuge of the Great Vehicle. 4. The two verses 'Self and others, etc.' are the aspiration of generating the mind of enlightenment. 5. The three verses 'Supreme enlightenment, etc.' are the mind of engaging in enlightenment. 6. The branch of dedication and aspiration to beings, etc. 7. If the seven branches are combined with numbers, then confess sins before the refuge, the three bodies of the Lama. 1. Taking vows and generating the mind, urging the turning of the wheel of Dharma. 2. Emanating the body into as many dust particles as there are fields and prostrating. 3. Offering one's own body, possessions, and roots of virtue as a mandala, and praying that the body will not pass into Nirvana but remain. 4. Sealing with dedication and aspiration prayers. 5. Emanating goddesses of the five desirable qualities and making offerings. 6. Praising the qualities of the three secrets of the Victorious Ones and rejoicing, these are the seven branches. 7. In some examples, it is said to offer one's own body as a seat, but in the handwriting of Yongge Terton Chen himself, it is written as 'Raten (offering)', so it is an offering to be presented to the Lama Ponpo (leader).
