Even if thoughts arise suddenly, know them to be like water and waves, sky and clouds. Now, in short, if the extent of practice is clinging to duality, it will collapse, that is, clinging to emptiness, clinging to awareness, clinging to thoughts. Likewise, for all good and evil, there must be the mind of duality of emptying the empty, knowing the knowable, remembering the memorable, cultivating the virtuous, and abandoning the non-virtuous, all of which are dualistic clinging. Meditating on existence is also mind, and meditating on non-existence is also mind. In short, all that is meditated goes out of mind and dualistic clinging, so there is no opportunity to find liberation. As it is said: Ultimate truth is not the object of mind, mind is considered to be conventional. So, what should be done? In the place of Chö practice, Mahamudra does not meditate on emptiness, nor does it meditate on non-thought, nor does it meditate on any support such as good thoughts, nor does it abandon anything such as bad thoughts, nor does it keep it in mind. Even thinking of abandoning the mind of dualistic clinging is dualistic clinging. Then, does it itself abide in emptiness? Does it abide in non-thought? Will merit manifest? Will faults manifest? Is it abiding? Is it wavering? Do the five senses operate? Do they not operate? In any case, let it happen naturally. If one is free from dualistic clinging, there is no way that wisdom will not manifest spontaneously. It is like when the clouds dissipate, the sun naturally appears. So, if thoughts arise, what should be done? Just leave it as it is, and it will disappear on its own. Hinayana and Svatantrika consider thoughts and discriminations to be abandoned, the Mind-Only school considers them to be refuted, the Madhyamika school considers them to be refuted, the Tantric school considers them to be transformed, the Prasangika Madhyamika considers them to be empty of self-nature, Mahamudra considers the appearance to be taken as the path, and Dzogchen considers it to be primordially liberated. If all of this is not guided by a spiritual friend who has realized the true nature, then everything will have the fault of dualistic clinging. The Chö practitioner does not intentionally abandon good or bad thoughts, does not prevent, does not refute, does not transform, does not empty, does not increase, abides in the state where the self-nature of primordial liberation is not established. The so-called abiding is just a saying, there is neither abiding nor non-abiding. Knowing the self-nature from the profound meaning is said to be the supreme method of abandoning and transforming everything. In particular, if one only takes the non-discriminating mind as the path and only practices conventional virtuous deeds, one will fall into the realm of the four extremes. If one abandons virtuous deeds, one will become

Going astray. That is meditating on the alaya. If you take the purity and non-fabrication of the five senses as the path to meditate, you will go astray into the form realm. That is meditating on the consciousness of the alaya, or meditating on the false mind. If you take the six aggregates as the object and take spontaneous liberation as the path to meditate, you will go astray into the desire realm. That is meditating on the consciousness of the five senses. Arya Deva said: "Inner and outer gods and demons, samsara and nirvana, appearances and emptiness, etc., the Buddha's intention free from dualistic appearance, is the unerroneous and unaltered path." I will not say anything else other than that. The method for realizing that wisdom is shown below. Again, Arya Deva said: "However, without relying on skillful means, wisdom will not manifest. It is like not having a harvest without prior cultivation." Therefore, all the roots of virtue from generosity to meditation must be perfected. The Compendium says: "As long as the roots of virtue are not perfected, one will not attain the supreme emptiness." That is to say, among all the roots of virtue, there is nothing more supreme than the two bodhicittas, so they must be meditated on in union. Saraha said: "Whoever enters emptiness without compassion, he will not find the supreme path. But if you only meditate on compassion, you will remain in samsara and will not attain liberation. Whoever is able to combine the two, will not abide in samsara or nirvana." Dampa said: "If compassion does not arise, realization will not arise. Fish come in water, not on land. Likewise, when realizing emptiness, it is impossible not to have compassion." If you go to extremes, Nagarjuna (Klu sgrub) said: "If you look at emptiness wrongly, those with little wisdom will be destroyed." Stagtsang Lotsawa Sherab Rinchen said: "Although they say they have spent their lives in Dharma, these meditators who do not understand the key points of meditation, it is not enough to waste their lives in vain, they will be reborn as animals and formless gods in the future. Compared to that, those who are attached to emptiness will be reborn in hell from which there is no escape. Wasting their lives in vain, these worldly people are happier living freely." This is said to those who do not understand primordial liberation and have not generated great compassion. The accomplished one, Nyoskyi Khungpa, also said: "Even if I meditated for forty years, I did not generate a single quality. Later I met the accomplished one Yumo wa and"
