The lake was flooded, and many fishermen were gathered there. He was anxious to cross to the other side. Because of the flood, he could not cross, so he prayed and wept to the Lama. One of the fishermen's sons said, "Little monk, why are you crying?" He said, "I have vowed to meditate on the other side, but the flood is an obstacle to my practice, so I am sad." The son said, "It is amazing that you have so much faith! I will take you to the other side." The son's father said, "This lake is salty, and cannot tolerate the water of ascetics. If the lake rots, even two years' worth of food will be scarce. There is also no custom of anyone living alone here except for Pal Gwa Lo and Guru Padmasambhava. This son of mine is also my only son, so I cannot let him go. I know the most about this lake, and I am the strongest. It is wonderful that you have such faith. Now, let's both get through this together. Even so, I have the sin of killing many fish, so you must recite 'Emaho'." So he tied three logs together in turn with rope. He attached three inflated sheepskin rafts underneath. He made a net of rope and wood on top. He placed a full bag of buckwheat flour in one raft. The fisherman sat in one raft. Chöjé himself sat in one raft. On the eleventh day, when the star was full, the raft was launched into the water. At midnight, there was a great roar and sounds of defecation in the lake. The waves of the lake were almost overturning the raft. There was also lightning and a great hailstorm in the sky. Frogs the size of little fingers jumped onto the raft, and the listener was very frightened and said, "Go meditate on the other side." He did not listen. Now we are both going to die, do you have any Kagyu Lamas?
