Samadhi has been established. In the end, single-mindedly abide in the heart. The mind's afflictions and thoughts are completely pacified, From the unwavering and stable mind, The supreme wisdom of selflessness in all dharmas, Practice the union of quiescence and insight in accordance with reality. To the father lama, the wish-fulfilling jewel, Make fervent prayers day and night, This appearance of dualistic clinging and delusion, Let go of it completely like a debt without expectation. To the awareness that has no before or after, Originally, the patching of fabrication is meaningless, Whatever arises is the nature of awareness, Always remain naturally without fabrication. The mind is originally the Buddha, Pointing out that this is it, just as it is, The supreme essence of the oral instructions of glorious Dagpo, The teacher who directly introduces the meaning. Whatever merit there is in these words, May all the disciples who follow me, Primarily led by your praying disciple, Quickly attain the state of glorious Vajradhara. This was written at the urging of Karma Chöle and others, in the solitary cave of Samten Yidong Ling at Tsurphu (circa 1189, Tsurphu Monastery), may auspicious glory adorn the world. ༈ Namo Guru. Homage to the Guru) The infallible Three Jewels of refuge, The kind Dharma Lord inseparable from them, I pray to the feet of the glorious Lama, I pray that you bless me at all times. This rambling talk spoken by a lazy person wandering aimlessly through countries, For the sake of benefiting my own mind a little, I pray that it may become a melody that encourages self and others towards virtue. It is difficult to obtain this leisure and fortune body again and again, This life is impermanent and will surely perish quickly, Whatever is born in the next life depends on the karma of this life, If one wanders in samsara without liberation, what will happen? The gains and honors of this life are like lightning in the sky, Whatever virtue is accumulated is the provisions for the next life, Without doing even a speck of non-virtuous deeds, Now is the time to accomplish the ultimate aspiration. Even if enjoyment, power, wealth, and fame are fully possessed, When you die, all of them will be abandoned, Without preparing provisions for the next life in this life, It is better to be content with little desire and rely on solitude. Doing as much harm as possible to one's enemies, Having compassion for relatives and great attachment to wealth, Transporting goods from south to north, trading and generating interest, It is also appropriate to abandon these such as four-legged animals and servants.

The "reputation" of a learned scholar who has heard much, the "reputation" of a great meditator who lives alone in the mountains, the "reputation" of a hungry person who has done some asceticism, etc., because they are the "eight worldly concerns," one should abandon these. Meat obtained by killing, alcohol that uncontrollably confuses the body and mind of the five aggregates, young and beautiful women who steal vows, isn't it better to abandon them like poison? Speaking of false direct perception that has not been seen, healing patients possessed by spirits even though it is useless, using powerful evil mantras and warfare, isn't this also contrary to the Dharma? Nowadays, although there are many practitioners who boast of being good, it is difficult for oneself to recognize one's own faults. Therefore, for the biographies of the Kagyu lineage masters, take the eye as an example, look up to them and practice accordingly. Pray and meditate on the glorious lama inseparable from the crown of your head, contemplate the kindness of the lama, and pray again and again. If you offer devotion with one mind and heart, then all wishes will be accomplished only by that. Therefore, for this dry understanding, in the presence of the lama, the lord, and fellow disciples, offer this song that arises in the mind as an offering. For the sake of love, please be pleased. This was written at the request of some singers during a retreat at the glorious Tsurphu Monastery. ༈ Namo Guru. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to the Guru) Also, in order to make the wisdom, compassion, and power of all the Buddhas of the three times appear like a playful dance in the minds of the pure disciples who are to be tamed. Having contemplated the realms of sentient beings for immeasurable eons, with great compassion without discrimination, the firm great love that cannot be surpassed is taken as the means to relieve all fatigue in the wilderness of samsara and nirvana. For the sake of the meaning of the Great Liberation Through Hearing of our glorious and precious lama, specifically mentioning the name of the Great Karmapa, the Lord of the Victorious Ones, Chöying Dorje, from the many vajra songs he spoke, some scattered fragments were recorded as notes. The venerable and holy one, when he placed the wheel of his two feet on the center of the land of Yarlung (Yarlung Valley area in Shannan Prefecture today), which was initially owned by Nyatri Tsenpo, the Tibetan king, the protector deity of the Shambhala (Tibetan: ཤམྦྷོ།) snow mountain, a great god, benefited all the beings of the snowy land.
