I want to escape from this place. Since I know that samsara is a prison of flesh, why would I do things of this life? The result of actions done with sin, and the main cause of obtaining freedom from it, and the three endless sufferings after accomplishment, when they appear at the same time, I feel weary of the meaninglessness of what I have done. I call out to the unbearable compassionate parents, the exhaustion of merit is the awkward appearance of the refuge place, the offering place is the degree of experiencing suffering, and the three ways of accumulating both attachment and aversion, at the same time, like drowning in water, despair for the demon king arises from the depths of my heart. I have no ability at all, what is good, this is good, I ponder in my heart. The people of the kingdom have no happiness, even livestock and insects face self-death and separation, what is seen and heard is the way of judgment of hell, the way of disaster of complete destruction of everything, and the fruitless actions of labor, etc., now endless heart-wind arises in my heart. Even if the holy Dharma has not appeared now, I wish to accomplish this life at the cost of my life. Thus I prayed. That was in my thirty-third year, on the fifteenth day of the third month of the Hor calendar, in a place that was unbearable like the spreading of a mountain slope, the accumulation of rainbow clouds was immeasurable, in the glittering gaps, flowers of various colors, large and small, were about the size of a chariot wheel, sometimes above the waist, sometimes below the waist, sometimes turning into the center of the face, the yogi master Milarepa appeared fleeting, especially the fluffy hair, the light of blackness more than anything else, with its own nature made me unable to look directly at my own awareness, forcibly blocking my devout heart. Then waking up from sleep, again stirring up the power of devotion, I prayed: Alas! Master, in the pure Akanishta realm, you are the sixth Buddha Dharmakaya Vajradhara (藏文:ཆོས་སྐུ་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་།,梵文天城体:धर्मकाय वज्रधर,梵文罗马拟音:Dharmakāya Vajradhara,汉语字面意思:法身金刚持), you appear to the masters of the ten bhumis, in front of us faithless foolish corpses, you appear as the yogi master Milarepa, Master, please save us now with unbearable compassion! Because devotion did not arise from the depths of my heart, the masters disappeared fleetingly like rainbows, although your voice possesses unbearable sounds, it is only a small part of it, the profound clarity that the mind unbearably craves, involuntarily steals my heart.

Because I had not generated a definite understanding of wonder, I only expressed some superficial devotion. The Buddhas of the three times manifested their power, and you, the incarnate Lama Raspa of Father Drogon. Your liberating deeds are so wondrous that I have generated some faith with conviction. Through the power of this pure dependent arising, in the appearance corrupted by the delusion of sleep, in the face of joy that transcends thought and expression, I spontaneously recognized a Jetsun I had never seen before, without anyone to teach me. At that time, I lost the ability to speak to the Jetsun. What I thought was: Protector, you know me! You are skilled in taming this unruly one! Please guide this foolish disciple onto the right path according to the Dharma. How could I practice worldly activities and other actions that waste life meaninglessly? Such a thing would not even occur in a dream. This kindness depends on you, Jetsun. Without my realizing it, may this heart of mine not be devoured by the eight worldly concerns and the hordes of obstacles, and may I be able to die in the state of a humble beggar, without being stained by the sin of grasping at duality. May Father Jetsun Raspa bless me. This is the prayer he made. Thereafter, in the waxing period of the month of Takar, when he was thirty-four years old, in a secluded mountain valley called Chilu, he diligently practiced cultivating the mind of enlightenment. In a dream vision, on the side of a vast and towering mountain, in a garden filled with radiant flowers, among countless delightful young women, the Lord of Yoga, Jetsun Lingre Raspa himself, with a body whose light outshone a hundred million suns, appeared vividly. In an instant, my devotion blazed like the fire at the end of time. Upon awakening, I followed his example and prayed: Ah! Upon thinking and reflecting, a precious human body has been obtained. Upon examining and analyzing, I have met the Jetsun without delusion. Having strived and accomplished, I have abandoned evil deeds. If possible, there is nothing more important than engaging in the Dharma. At that time, I again received the kindness of the refuge. At that time, I again prayed to the supreme refuge, the Karmapa. I pray to the Knower of the Three Times. Please bless me with your incomprehensible wisdom. In that valley of Da Nyemo, all the people, without distinction of ordained or lay, are practicing the discipline of the field.
