It is said, "In general, the six houses are empty." Thus, if the manner in which the omens of death increase over thirty days is explained in a little more detail by combining it with the channels of the twelve houses, then out of the sixty tips that branch out from the root of the twelve houses of the navel, the six houses on the left—Aries, Taurus, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius—from the wind of the sky, in order, with the order of wind, fire, water, and earth, the omens of death increase by three days each, and six channels each dry up. Because of the uneven causes such as one, three, and five, the omens of death increase by fifteen days, and the thirty minor channels of the six houses become empty. Similarly, from the right, the six houses—Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces—from earth and wind to water, fire, wind, and sky, in the order of gathering, flowing evenly in twos, fours, sixes, etc., with each increase of six days of the omens of death, three channels each block and dry up. When fifteen days have passed, the thirty minor channels of the six houses become empty. That is what is said. At this time, it may be a little difficult for the ignorant to understand, so according to the intention of the self-commentary, I will record the instructions given by the learned Lhalungpa: When the wind of the sky flows in the left nostril for one day, from that time on, the process of gathering in three directions for three years begins. As the days of the omens of death gradually increase, the number of days of life in which the wind flows straight decreases. Therefore, for thirty-three and a half days, it flows evenly without increase or decrease. After that, earth and wind flow in the right nostril for two days. After thirty-two and a half days, sky wind flows in the left for three days. Again, after thirty-one and a half days, earth and wind flow on the right for one day. Again, after thirty and a half days, the wind of the sky flows in the left for five days. In this way, the left flow is an uneven way of gathering, so when the five days of transition have completely passed, the sky wind of the six petals of the uneven houses of the navel—Aries, Taurus, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius—is exhausted, and six channels dry up. After that, after twenty-nine and a half days, earth and wind flow on the right for six days. The right flow is an even way of gathering, so when the six days of transition have completely passed, the earth and wind of the six petals of the even houses—Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces—are exhausted, and six channels dry up. In this way, the days of death from the left...ྔ། Starting from the right, increasing by six days, the twelve minor transformation channels dry up. Thus, calculating: At twenty-eight and a half days, the wind of wind days runs for seven days from the left. At twenty-seven and a half days, the water-wind days run for eight days from the right. At twenty-six and a half days, the wind of wind days runs for nine days from the left. At twenty-five and a half days, the water-wind days run for ten days from the right. At twenty-four and a half days, the wind of wind days runs for eleven days from the left. Thus, when the water-wind days are full for five days, the wind of wind running in the six unequal houses is exhausted, and six channels dry up. Again, at twenty-three and a half days, the water-wind days run for twelve days from the right, thus the water-wind of the six equal houses is exhausted, and six channels dry up. Thus, as the death days increase by twelve, the umbilical channels number twenty-four thousand. Again, at twenty-two and a half days, the fire-wind days run for thirteen days from the left. At twenty-one and a half days, the fire-wind days run for fourteen days from the right. At twenty days and a half, the fire-wind days run for fifteen days from the left. At nineteen and a half days, the fire-wind days run for sixteen days from the right.
