The arising and reversal, and the sixteen-fold classification of the internal divisions, as well as the faults of leakage and the methods of binding, as mentioned above. The benefits of binding, purification, and the progression and reversal of cause and effect have all been explained in the essence of the bindu chapter. The extensive explanation is because the Victorious Vajradhara has spoken of it in all the unsurpassed tantras. Therefore, as a method to purify the defilements of absorption, it is crucial to bind the karma mudra. Here, it is written only briefly, without elaborating. Thus it is said, indicating that this matter needs to be learned in conjunction with oral instructions. Fifth, the ordinary state is explained in detail in three parts: essence, purification, and abandonment-realization-fruit. The first is: The consciousness of the ordinary time is, the alaya, afflicted mind, and action, the four conditions mentioned earlier are combined, the six consciousnesses of the eye, etc., are connected with the six faculties, appear as the six objects of form, etc., produce the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and equanimity, generate attachment, aversion, and ignorance, are taken by the immediately following mind, placed on the alaya, and acted upon again. Thus it is said, in the waking state, the essence of the consciousness of the ordinary time is: the alaya consciousness, acted upon by the afflicted mind, etc., as mentioned in the first chapter, with the aggregation of the four conditions such as cause, etc., the six consciousnesses of the eye, etc., are connected with the six faculties as the dominant condition, appearing as the aspects of the six objects of form, etc., and because one does not recognize that it is one's own mind, one produces the feeling of happiness based on the pleasant object, the suffering based on the unpleasant object, and the neutral feeling of equanimity based on the neutral object, these three feelings sequentially generate the three afflictions of greed, hatred, and ignorance. These habits are taken by the immediately following mind, placed on the alaya, and relying on the habits of the action of creation, again manifest the action of creation, newly accumulating karma, thereby repeatedly revolving in samsara. The second is: This itself is the three pure wisdoms, the mind is the immovable equality, all pure discriminations are discriminating wisdom, and the objects of the five senses are all accomplished wisdom.

Thus it is said. Ordinary consciousness, when its obscurations are completely purified, is the very essence of the three wisdoms. The afflicted mind being completely purified is the wisdom of equality, which is unwavering and works for the benefit of others. The all-discerning, the sixth consciousness, being completely purified is the wisdom of discernment. The five sense consciousnesses together with their objects being completely purified is the wisdom of accomplishing activities. As a corollary to that, the all-ground being completely purified is the mirror-like wisdom. And it should also be known that the very essence of those four wisdoms, abiding in a nature that is primordially and utterly pure, is the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. The third part has two aspects: abandonment, antidote, and result; and the actual binding point. The first is: Obscurations are those to be abandoned by seeing and those to be abandoned by meditation. The antidotes are faith, selflessness, samadhi, and compassion, these four. Having purified by these, the nirmanakaya performs deeds for beings. Since mind and dreams are the same, it is called the sambhogakaya, that is the result. Since it is extensively taught in all the dharmas, here it is condensed. Thus it is said. What is to be abandoned as obscurations to the meaning of the way things are is: having entered into the corruption of tenets, the coarse, conceptualized, that which is to be abandoned by seeing; and not having entered into it, the subtle, that which is to be abandoned by meditation, coemergent, these two. The antidote for abandoning is, in brief, cultivating faith in the Dharma of the Great Vehicle; the wisdom of realizing the two selflessnesses; entering the door of samadhi; and great compassion; possessing these four aspects destroys what is to be abandoned. The main result arising from purifying the obscurations of the ordinary awakened state by that antidote is the nirmanakaya and the sambhogakaya. The purification of the part of the five sensory consciousnesses and the sixth mind that looks outward is the nirmanakaya. Because the movement of the sixth consciousness of fabrication and dreams are of one essence, the part of the sixth mind that is similar to dreams and looks inward is called the sambhogakaya. Therefore, performing deeds for beings with the two form bodies is the result of purifying the awakened state. Since the extensive way of those things is taught in all the dharmas of sutra and tantra, here it is shown only in brief for fear of many words. The second is: Therefore, the Dharma seal of the dharmas
