It is merely an illusory appearance arising from not recognizing, and it is not established by its own nature. So, what is ignorance? It is the ignorance of sentient beings who, due to the impurity of dualistic clinging, mistake objects and subjects as different. What is not recognized? It is the great innate bliss that is characterized by momentariness. How is it not recognized? It is not recognized by not knowing that which abides within oneself, but instead grasping it as something other than oneself, and by constantly conceptualizing about objects. Thus, due to ignorance, the great bliss, the mind of enlightenment, is diminished, thereby generating all three poisons, and under their influence, one involuntarily revolves and appears to wander in samsara. The reason why the Kalachakra and other scriptures say that 'leaking bliss is the root of samsara' is also due to not recognizing the wisdom of innate joy. Generating the three poisons and thus revolving in samsara is the only reason. In the first chapter, it says, 'That itself does not recognize itself.' And here it says, 'Not knowing the great bliss of the moment.' These have the same meaning. Therefore, in common Dharma terminology, the root of samsara is explained as ignorance, but if one explains it from the perspective of individual self-awareness wisdom as not recognizing one's own nature, it is consistent with this meaning. Thus, the way in which the three poisons are generated with leakage due to not recognizing the nature of innate wisdom, and the way in which one revolves in samsara is as follows: The first of desire and craving is that which is accompanied by joy, and that is attachment; in the middle, although one experiences the wisdom of innate joy, it becomes delusion due to not realizing it; and finally, due to the decline of the body, one becomes separated from attachment and transforms into a mind of hatred. From this, again, due to wanting happiness, one becomes attached to one's own happiness, and generates all kinds of afflictions such as stinginess, which is the unwillingness to give happiness to others, and jealousy, which is the unwillingness for others to be happy, and completely engages in non-virtuous actions, thereby casting beings into the lower realms and causing them to increase. Third, the order of going beyond suffering into nirvana is divided into two: the order of the path of the causal vehicle and the vehicle of the result. The first is divided into three: the path of the small person, the medium person, and the great person. The first is: turning slightly away from that, after abandoning greed, jealousy, and attachment for the benefit of oneself and others, possessing generosity and abandoning anger, possessing discipline, desiring happiness, noble...
