Because they are the two supreme truths, with respect to the former, there are two types: those of provisional meaning and those with hidden meaning. With respect to the latter, ultimate truth, there are two types: those of definitive meaning and those without hidden meaning. With respect to the expressing words, there are two types: those that are literal and those that are non-literal. The meaning of the four modes is explained in detail in the "Lamp Illuminating the Meaning of the Modes," which should be understood elsewhere. Here, I will only give a few examples. The first mode is when the two letters ཨེ་(Tibetan, Devanagari: ऐ, Romanized Sanskrit: ai, Literal Chinese meaning: Alas) and ཝྃ་(Tibetan, Devanagari: वम्, Romanized Sanskrit: vam, Literal Chinese meaning: Vam) are combined, as is commonly known in the world, they are used as the introduction to topics such as "Thus have I heard." The second is when the two letters are applied to the generation stage, they are combined as the supporting deity and the supported wisdom, or as the supporting palace and the supported deity. The third is that the letter ཨེ་(Tibetan, Devanagari: ऐ, Romanized Sanskrit: ai, Literal Chinese meaning: Alas) represents the lotus, and the letter ཝྃ་(Tibetan, Devanagari: वम्, Romanized Sanskrit: vam, Literal Chinese meaning: Vam) represents the vajra, and མ་ཡཱ་(Tibetan, Devanagari: माया, Romanized Sanskrit: māyā, Literal Chinese meaning: Illusion) represents movement, or they are combined with the three vajras of body, speech, and mind. The fourth is when they are applied to the completion stage of the channels, winds, bindus, clear light, and union. The second part, regarding the actual meaning of the text, is divided into two parts: establishing the body and explaining the branches in detail. The first part is divided into two parts: establishing the body or essence of the meaning that includes the necessity, and briefly explaining the certainty of the eleven sections. The first part is: "The essence of the stainless Victorious One, the impure, the impure-pure, and the extremely pure, in that order, sentient beings abiding on the path, and the Thus-gone Ones, in that order, are spoken of, therefore, one should understand that meaning." As it is said, what is the nature of the body of mind that is promised to be explained? It is the essence, the nature or essence of all the Victorious Ones, which is free from all elaborations of conceptual grasping, and from the beginning, there is no need to remove anything, and there is not even a slight adventitious stain. It continuously exists in both samsara and nirvana, and is divided into three states: completely impure, subtle impurities impure but coarse impurities pure through the power of the two stages of antidote, and all obscurations extremely pure, corresponding in order to sentient beings with the impure Sugata-garbha, those abiding on the path with the impure-pure Sugata-garbha, and the Thus-gone Ones with the extremely pure Sugata-garbha. From where is it spoken? From the common Uttaratantra and other inconceivable

Among them, regarding the extensive explanation of the essence of the four "nas," although the words are the same, what is different here from the common is that in the Great Secret Vajrayana, the subject matter is the continuum of meaning, the continuum of the basis, the continuum of means, and the continuum of result, which are combined with the three states and explained sequentially. The oral instruction says: The basis is the reality of things, the order of the path, the order of the arising of fruits, and so on. The later collection scripture says: Continuum means continuous. The continuum has three forms. And so on, because countless teachings appear, the system of the treatise itself is established. Its meaning will be explained below, and it needs to be understood through these. That's what it says. Here, it is possible to establish the first and last states in this way, but it is feared that the middle state will not work. For example, just as when learning letters and paintings, they are taken as the path, when learning Vajra Yoga and Prajnaparamita, they themselves are taken as the path. The doctrine of the net of illusion is shown, this is the pure and beautiful path. And so on. Furthermore, Vajra is the unchanging Buddha, and going to its path is the vehicle, so the word Vajrayana should also be understood. Here, I will briefly explain the important key that must not be unknown. These three continuums are: the continuum of the basis of body and mind without distinction, the continuum of the path of generation and completion without distinction, and the continuum of the fruit of two bodies without distinction. The purity or wisdom of the two, body and mind, is the cause, because it is similar to the lineage of the perfect Buddha. It is a continuum, because there is no change from sentient beings to Buddha and it is continuous. Generation and completion are the means, because they make the ultimate Buddha manifest directly or indirectly. It is a continuum, because it is related to empowerment, vows, and precepts. It is related to the two stages of the path. It is related to the two bodies. The former of these two continuums is the proximate cause, and the latter is the cooperative condition, and both of these make the unclear manifest, rather than creating something that did not exist before. The continuum of cause, through the practice of the continuum of means, is the manifestation of freedom from obscurations.
