Supreme Bodhi inner and outer mind, realms and their inhabitants, inner and outer circumstances, in the activities of subduing and embracing, all vows are gathered. Thus, if all those vows are summarized, they are refuge in the Three Jewels, not abandoning the inner and outer Bodhicitta, not doubting the purity of realms and their inhabitants, relying on inner and outer favorable circumstances, and not letting the activities of subduing and embracing exceed the proper time. They are thus gathered into twelve or five; one should also know this about all vows. Now, the second, the specific vows of mantra, will be explained; this has five aspects: nature, distinctions, places, individual characteristics, and the limits of attainment. The nature is that the great bliss wisdom achieved through the indivisibility of E-VAM (Tibetan: ཨེ་ཝཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evam, Chinese literal meaning: thus) is the actual vow of the unsurpassed Vajrayana. As it says in the "Two Examinations Tantra": "The distinctions of the vows will also be explained; A-LI (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) and KA-LI (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) are the sun and moon, wisdom and means." And in the third chapter of the "Later Examination": "There, the vows were bestowed, the vows of all Buddhas are E-VAM (Tibetan: ཨེ་ཝཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evam, Chinese literal meaning: thus), perfectly established." Thus. If divided according to the gate of empowerment, there are four vows of the four empowerments; by the union of E-VAM (Tibetan: ཨེ་ཝཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evam, Chinese literal meaning: thus), the manner of arising of the four joys or four moments is explained extensively, and finally it says: "Empowerment is known sequentially by the number of four, such as joy." Thus it is said. If divided according to the gate of results, each of the four bodies has body, speech, mind, and wisdom; thus, these four combined into one, so there are four types of vows. Or, by the gate of what is to be tamed, it can also become sixteen. As it says in the "Great Commentary on the Kalachakra": "The body, speech, and mind of the Emanation Body, wisdom combined into one is the vow. The body, speech, and mind of the Enjoyment Body, wisdom combined into one is the vow. The body, speech, and mind of the Glorious Dharma Body, wisdom combined into one is the vow. The body, speech, and mind of the Glorious Innate Body, wisdom combined into one is the vow." Thus. If divided according to the lineage of the vows or the place where the vows reside, there are three types. As it says in the Great Commentary of Naropa: "All those four natures," etc., meaning how, following the root tantra, with the establishment spoken of in other tantras, the vows are established in the six chakras by the distinction of the six lineages. By the distinction of the five lineages, they are established in the five families, and the three lineages.

The classification into three categories is what the Tathagata has definitely stated. Thus, the vows of the six lineages, the five lineages, and the three of body, speech, and mind are proclaimed, namely, three categories. In short, Āli Kāli and the like are the vows of two dharmas, body, speech, and mind and the like are the vows of three dharmas, the four joys and the like are the vows of four dharmas, the five elements and the like are the vows of five dharmas, the six lineages and the like are the vows of six dharmas, and so on. From the subtle categories, the number becomes infinite. Thus, it becomes an immeasurable and uncountable vow. Therefore, there is no dharma that cannot be encompassed by this vow, because this great wisdom is the supreme seal to be applied to all dharmas. Differentiating from the perspective of real and imputed, merely making a verbal commitment and applying the term "vow" is an imputed mantra vow; obtaining wisdom in one's own continuum is a true mantra vow, there are two. The place from which the vow is obtained is the Vajra Acharya and the mandala, and the condition is obtained from empowerment, as it is said: "E-vaṃ, the great bliss of spontaneity, is truly obtained from empowerment." Now, I will explain the individual characteristics. In general, the empty bindu of six syllables, that is, all the dharmas of skillful means and the collection of manifestations becoming one, is the syllable "vaṃ," great bliss; the great emptiness of five syllables, that is, all the dharmas of wisdom and the collection of vowels becoming one, is the syllable "e," the great emptiness of the source of dharma. The indivisible oneness of these two, that is, the non-duality of "e-vaṃ," is the state of union and integration, referred to as the Wheel of Time of Hevajra and so on. As it is said in the Second Examination Tantra: "What is the beautiful form of E? In the center, adorned by Vaṃ, it is the abode of all bliss, the precious Buddha's treasure trove." And: "He is the nature of great compassion, Vajra is also said to be wisdom, the continuum of the nature of skillful means and wisdom." And so on. Therefore, "E-vaṃ" is mentioned first in the introduction to all scriptures, and in some places, although other names are used, the meaning of "E-vaṃ" is actually being spoken of, and these two syllables are regarded as the basis of all collections of dharmas. In the commentaries on the Sutra Requested by the King of Gods, it is quoted that the dharma
