It is in terms of the establishment. Belittling oneself is not seen as a root downfall. Because the eighth is said to be contempt for the aggregates, not contempt for oneself. No one would consider the aggregates to be oneself. Moreover, it is not included in the other thirteen. When one knows that everything is the deity of the yidam, one cannot find a separate self that is not included there, so there is no need to talk about it. Then, is it reasonable to say that the root downfall is "One should not belittle all beings"? Because it is said that contempt for all the aggregates is a root downfall, it is more extensive. For those who hold the tenets that regard matter, consciousness, and people as different, because it is said that contempt for beings is a root downfall, it is unavoidable to despise those mountains, artificial water, feces, urine, etc., which are not included by the mind. Here, all the aggregates, realms, and sources are shown as deities, so it is said that contempt for any of them is a root downfall. If you distinguish in detail, the collection of beings or people is only established due to illusion. If one particularly despises its form, it becomes contempt for Vairochana, and from particularly despising the earth element, it becomes contempt for Buddha Eye Buddha Mother, etc., and one must understand it in this way. Even in the Hearer Vehicle, it is said that even generating evil thoughts and anger towards a broom should not be done, let alone a body with mind, then what more to say in the Vajra Vehicle. All dharmas are included in the five aggregates included in the three doors of Vajra body, speech, and mind. Taking the contempt for the five aggregates of one's own yogi as the root downfall as the reason, thinking that contempt for one's own aggregates and contempt for the aggregates of others are different like pillars and vases, and that contempt for the aggregates of others is not a root downfall, do not think like this, it has become the key to correcting the downfall. The thought is: Due to hatred and anger towards the body, what is the use of thinking about collecting the rotten body? It would be better to die, and so on. The actual practice is: treating the body like an enemy, fasting, abstaining from food, getting sick, cutting into pieces, lighting lamps, etc., as well as beating, fighting, and making them do these things, and verbally saying with disgust that this bad body has not improved, etc. In the Great Commentary, it says: The aggregates are afflicted by afflictions, etc.

For example, placing on sand, or saying it is cutting the body, etc., from that it becomes the eighth root downfall. Moreover, the scholar Manjushri says that it is also killing, binding, hating and being disgusted with oneself, tormenting oneself with asceticism, meditating on the impurity of the body, making the limbs, etc., unpleasant, and despising the body as a heap. Thus it is said. In short, if the body is mainly mentioned, and if one is attached to and angry with all the inner and outer aggregates, elements, and sense fields, then that is a root downfall. The time is when the thought and action of anger, beating, etc., are completed. The way to become a downfall is the same. Not a downfall is when there is no contempt for the aggregates, etc., but one does fasting, etc., as mentioned in the sutras and tantras, by the power of joy in order to purify obscurations, and seeing the great meaning of oneself and others, and for the special need of something like the upper yoga path, there is no fault in despising the body and speech, but there is no possibility of being without fault if one is angry with the aggregates with the belief in their reality in one's mind. On the other hand, in order to reverse the belief in the reality of the aggregates, there is no downfall in showing the heap and the impure things again, etc. Some say that if one separates the body of maturation from the original body with a discriminating mind and does fasting, etc., there is no fault. However, separating in this way is not mentioned in the tantras, and it seems to be a means of allowing even the part that is not a deity to be separated from the body that one has promised to be a deity. If so, then for the other thirteen root downfalls, one can also separate the original and the maturation to purify them, what is the difference? In short, because one knows that all the aggregates, elements, and sense fields are pure in nature from the beginning, one does not make them objects of attachment and aversion, and one does not cling to them as one's own continuum, but one should enjoy the appearance of the world as the form of the deity. The ninth root downfall is, the essence is, not believing in the naturally pure dharma, but being doubtful is a heavy downfall, that is: On the naturally pure dharmas, being doubtful is the ninth. And, the ninth is not believing in the pure dharma. And, in "The Ornament of the Heart" it says: Doubt arises about the pure dharma. And, in "The Gur" it says: Do not have two minds about the dharma. Thus it is said. The reason is, in "The Key of Empowerment" it says: The path of abandoning the characteristic vehicle, is regarded as the antidote to be abandoned. Similarly, translate.
