"After taking the rosary," and in the *Manifest Enlightenment Tantra*, it says, "With a rosary of great bones, Afterwards, the recitation is done from that." As it is said, a particularly special rosary of great skulls should be ordered. Whatever those rosaries may be, they should be well washed and purified with the five ambrosias, etc., without defects such as cracks, strung with cotton thread spun by a wealthy son or a pure girl, or thread from a charnel ground, etc., which is not double-stranded, made into a double-layered spear-head stupa shape, and tied with a vajra knot, and consecrated as described in the *Kalachakra*, etc., or even if not consecrated, purified with incense. Then, placed between the left hand's three-petaled lotus and the right hand's five-pronged vajra held together, like a coiled snake, visualize the collection of Āli Kāli (藏文:ཨཱ་ལྀ་ཀཱ་ལྀ།梵文天城体:ālikāli,梵文罗马拟音:ālikāli,汉语字面意思:阿礼嘎礼) letters, or from their respective seed syllables, visualize the rosary beads as the forms of the four castes of dakinis, the rosary thread as a rosary of mantras, the lower knot as the Bhagavati, and the upper knot as the nature of the Father Vairocana Heruka, or you can visualize everything as Vajrayogini alone arising from Hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:hrīḥ,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:啥). Invite the wisdom beings with light. As in the self-generation ritual, empower the samaya beings, and after they become inseparable, offer them with offerings and nectar, and praise them slightly. Recite a few mantras and pray, and visualize all the deities dissolving into light and becoming the form of the rosary, and then recite Āli Kāli (藏文:ཨཱ་ལྀ་ཀཱ་ལྀ།梵文天城体:ālikāli,梵文罗马拟音:ālikāli,汉语字面意思:阿礼嘎礼) or the essence mantra as much as possible. Regarding the number of beads: "The number of beads is Arhats, The stupa is the heap of Dharma, The upper part is regarded as a stupa." Therefore, the rosary thread is the nature of mantra, i.e., the Dharma Jewel. The rosary beads are the assembly of retinue dakinis, i.e., the Sangha. The lower knot is the Form Body, and the upper knot is the Dharma Body, i.e., the nature of the main deity Vajrayogini, which is the Buddha Jewel. Therefore, knowing the nature of the Three Jewels as inseparable, hold it with respect. At other times, some yogis of India and Nepal wear and hold the rosary on their left hand, because they do not show their left hand to others, so they hold it. Most of the time, they wear it with the upper garment pressing down on the neck, so that people cannot see it. In Tibet, there is also the practice of putting it in a rosary bag, etc. In short,

It is held in a place where it cannot be seen by others. The number of beads also varies according to the activity. For peaceful activities, one hundred beads are used. Although it is said that way, a complete rosary is made with a maximum of one hundred and eight beads. It is thought that one hundred for peaceful activities, half of that for subjugation, and twenty-five or sixty-five for wrathful activities are included in that. Therefore, nowadays, one hundred and eight beads are used for all activities. Je Lama said that since peaceful activities are the main focus, one hundred is taken as the base, and the excess or deficiency is made up to eight, so the one hundred and eight beads of today are for peaceful activities. With what should one recite? With the fingers. Although it is said in the lower tantras that one should recite with the right hand, here, according to the vows of the Mother Tantra, one recites with the left hand. Moreover, if it is done according to the lineage, "the rosary is with the Buddha finger," since it is of the Tathagata lineage, it is drawn by placing it on the index finger. If it is done according to the activity, it is said that the four fingers are for different activities such as peaceful ones, and it is said that "the one who does all activities, all fingers should do." Therefore, for all activities that are not separated into different activities, it is drawn from the index finger with the four fingers joined together. How should one recite? With the nature of the thumb as a vajra hook, one visualizes the rosary as the nature of the deity, invites it, and it dissolves into the seed syllable at the navel, and thus one thinks that it has become subjugated. As it is said in the Vajrasekhara, "Having made the thumb into a hook, one should summon all the deities. If one recites the mantra with perfect samadhi, accomplishment will occur without doubt." Someone might think that since that is a Yoga Tantra, it is not appropriate to quote it in the Anuttara Yoga Tantra, but that is not the case, because Yoga itself is said to be a general tantra that combines Yoga and Anuttara Yoga without distinction. Moreover, the Vajrasekhara and the Guhyagarbha Tantra are also similar to that in that they combine Yoga and Anuttara Yoga. As the glorious Naropa's commentary on the Guhyasamaja Tantra says, "The tantra is the supreme tantra," which means that the root tantra of all tantras is the one that combines Yoga and Anuttara Yoga, and its subsequent tantra is the Guhyasamaja Tantra, and so on. Therefore, although the rosary is also for counting, that is only an incidental need, and it should be understood primarily that reciting the rosary with samadhi is the recitation of the body. Some later people...
