If one thinks that these disputes arise merely because of the differences in the number of limbs, implements, and attire, and that one should not be attached to oneness or difference in these, and that the body color, hand implements, number of retinue, etc., are merely shown for the purpose of taming those to be tamed and attaining the result, I am afraid that few people can understand. For example, some people argue about the boat-shaped hands and wheel-shaped hands of Hevajra, argue about the four-demon stacked seat and the spread-out seat, argue about whether the hand implements are placed upwards or downwards, and so on. There are also people who argue about whether Yamantaka has a consort or not, whether Yamantaka's nine faces have nine different skulls or only one skull. There are also people who argue about how many cracks there are in these skulls. For those with face-like features, some argue whether the face-like features are up to the indentation of the nose or up to the throat. Hearing these things, I feel that some people are grasping at one-sided views and arguing loudly. In this way, it seems that a new hostile situation has arisen in the generation stage. Originally, the generation stage was taught to destroy the reification of the body, but if one develops such a strong reification of the generation stage itself, then one will not be able to destroy the reification no matter what. It is like changing the saying "The Buddhas speak of emptiness in order to eliminate all views; whoever has a view of emptiness is incurable" to "The Buddhas speak of the generation stage in order to eliminate reification; whoever reifies the generation stage is incurable." However, this is not just a problem with the generation stage. It is not that there is a dharma called "Paramita" in a certain city or region of Jambudvipa or another continent, and the Buddha saw that it only had six or ten, so he spoke of the six or ten perfections. Nor is it that there is a thing called "Bodhipakshika-dharmas" that has thirty-seven stages, so he taught the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. Or that there is a "path" like a ladder that extends from samsara all the way to the Buddha's land, and it has ten rungs, so he spoke of the ten bhumis. All the categories of dharma spoken by the Bhagavan are like distinguishing the sky, with "the sky of this place" and so on, and like distinguishing distances, with yojanas and calls, and so on, in different ways. All of this is to suit the minds of sentient beings with different capacities.

Due to the power of intention, names are established, that is, there is no attachment to all possessions, and there is no conceptualization of the three circles. The ten perfections, such as the perfection of generosity, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment in the order of generating mindfulness focused on the body, and the first stage of joy is named when the correct view is first born, and so on. Similarly, all other nominal dharmas are taught in this way, so that one knows the way to enter in stages, and because the boundaries of the stages are fixed, one can rest without being tired by the path, and one knows that there are higher paths, so one does not become arrogant with the qualities of one's own stage, and in all ways, all these dharmas, which are not the object of one's own mind, like the expanse of the sky, are taught by the Tathagata through names, words, symbols, and terms, so that the general meaning appears in the mind, and finally one is placed on the ultimate and non-inverted view. Therefore, knowing that the skillful activities of the Tathagata are an inconceivable and supreme place, one knows that one cannot grasp the limits of the qualities of the teacher, etc., and there are infinite benefits, so the nominal dharmas are taught in this way. When one truly sees the state of Suchness, the snake knot of clinging to the nominal dharmas is naturally untied, so one does not become attached to the former, and when one sees the state of the latter, the cessation of elaboration, one knows that it is the skillful activity of the Buddha, so one does not generate disbelief in the former. Since the wisdom of individual self-awareness arises from within the mind, there is no need to block the previous nominals in its presence, nor is it necessary to establish the cessation of elaboration with reason. Therefore, considering that most of the Mahayana trainees in this land do not need too much or too little, the ten perfections and so on are taught. But in any case, it is not so certain. For some trainees, eighty-four thousand perfections and so on are taught, and it is even possible to teach more. For some trainees, it is also possible to become tame by teaching the perfections in two or one. As it is said in the Lotus Sutra, many bodhisattvas came from other Buddha lands.
