Because taking on some disputes, merely protecting, rescuing, and harboring ill will towards those who disagree, it appears chaotic. Therefore, if actions and non-actions are mixed, and it is not known whether to protect or subdue, then for the Dharma protectors of Vajrayana, you yourselves know, if they are in a position to be protected, then protect; if they are in a position to be subdued, then subdue, so that pure activities without personal bias can be carried out. Regarding the eleventh root downfall, its nature is: the conceptual thought of grasping the suchness itself as a characteristic with the completion stage. As it is said: For dharmas devoid of names, etc., To conceptualize there is the eleventh. Also, it is said: Those devoid of names, etc., give bliss, To conceptualize them is fierce. Also, in the Gur Tantra it is said: The measure of dharmata should not be grasped. The reason is: clinging to characteristics is the only obstacle to seeing suchness itself. In the Paramita Vehicle, it is also said: Attachment to kings, etc., is subtle. Even faith, which is difficult to obtain, in holding the Buddha as a refuge, is ultimately considered to be clinging to characteristics or clinging to mind. In the Sutra of the Buddha's Activities: The Tathagatas of the eastern direction, in the realm of the king named Entering Desire, all the Tathagatas gathered together, each with one or a pair of long attendants, so that the three thousand great thousand worlds were like a jewel base the size of a palm, transformed into the roots of jewel trees that were one, each sitting on a lion throne, spread out like being covered with New Zealand grass, when they were debating the Dharma, the noble Manjushri, with the notion that the Buddha is difficult to obtain, desiring the Dharma and faith, instantly went from this realm, the Tathagata of that realm thought: Manjushri has come with great clinging, I will destroy this clinging, subdue others, and show the miraculous realm of the Tathagata. So he instantly threw him to the top of an indestructible wheel-enclosing mountain in the southern world, for a moment he himself did not know where he had been thrown, from which direction he had come. Later, by the power of that Buddha, he could not return, stayed for a while, subdued many gods, and was summoned back, asking the reason why he himself was thrown and his sister's doubt was dispelled. He replied: You have come with great clinging, that is, clinging to me and the Buddha and the Dharma, etc.
