The necessity is: not violating the teachings, traversing the twelve grounds, thereby traversing the twelve grounds, being blessed by the dakinis, approaching the Buddha, and being able to obtain the accomplishment of Hevajra. This was said by the venerable Marpa. Before this conduct of intellectual asceticism, secret conduct must also be practiced, which has been said in the second chapter of the lower examination, and will be explained there. Therefore, here is the actual demonstration of ascetic conduct, which has three points: connection, the text of the chapter, and the name of the chapter. The first point is: Furthermore, a good explanation will be given, the supreme conduct of going to the other shore. Thus it is said, from the explanation of suchness, in addition to that, increasing the power of the completion stage, practicing without duality of skillful means and wisdom, thereby well explaining that which is more supreme than other perfections. The second point is divided into teaching and explanation, of which the first point has five: the necessity of conduct, the ornaments and clothes of that time, food, deity yoga, and companion. The first point is: By what does one go to the ultimate accomplishment, the cause of the accomplishment of Hevajra. Thus it is said, by what conduct does a fortunate one in one lifetime and one body transcend mantra or worldly accomplishments and reach the ultimate, that is, be able to proceed, and the supreme accomplishment of Hevajra, the nature of the four bodies of the Bhagavan, is quickly obtained by the cause of conduct. The second point is: The yogi's adornment, wearing good earrings on the ears, wearing a wheel jewel on the crown of the head, wearing two bracelets on the hands, tying a belt around the waist, wearing anklets on the feet as well, wearing armlets at the base of the arms, wearing a rosary of bones on the neck, and wearing a tiger skin. Thus it is said, abiding in the path of the two stages, after realization has become stable, the uniting yogi who wants to practice, initially when practicing, needs to prepare special ornaments and clothes. When practicing, what is worn on the body as adornment is: good earrings that should be worn on the ears, that is, beautiful because of their good shape, and the wheel jewel placed under the crest jewel on the crown of the head, having various shapes such as spokes and edges.

And, on the two wrists, wear two matching bracelets; around the waist, a belt called "Oba," which is a swaying ornament with hanging decorations. On the ankles, there are also two anklets, so wear two anklets accordingly. At the base of the forearms, wear two armlets. Around the neck, wear a necklace of bones. The material of these ornaments, as mentioned at the end, is made from the bones of humans and animals. Around the lower body, wear a tiger skin, and prepare a tiger skin with all its limbs complete. The detailed meaning of the ornaments will be explained later, so it is not mentioned here. Earrings represent patience, wheels represent meditation, belts represent diligence, bracelets represent ethics, and rosaries represent the essence of generosity, as explained in detail in the root tantras. Naropa explained that the tiger skin symbolizes the destruction of the afflictions of all beings in the three realms, because afflictions devour beings like tigers. Rangjung Dorje considered it to symbolize fearlessness and non-discrimination. The third is: Eat half of the undying. At that time, the food to be eaten is: half of the undying. One verse is spoken here. That is, from the sound of the Sanskrit word Amrita (Tibetan: བདུད་རྩི།, Devanagari: अमृत, Romanized Sanskrit: amṛta, literal Chinese meaning: undying). "Mrita" (Tibetan: འཆི་བ།, Devanagari: मृत, Romanized Sanskrit: mṛta, literal Chinese meaning: death) means death, and adding the negative prefix "A" (Tibetan: ཨ་ཐུང་།, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal Chinese meaning: without) in front of it makes it undying. This is the Sanskrit equivalent of nectar. Half of ten is five, so it means eating five nectars as food. Bless them with the vajra skull cup and then eat them. Its meaning is to symbolize relying on the five wisdoms. The fourth is: Heruka, the one born of union. Abides in the five colors. It is said here that no matter which of the four Herukas who practice conduct, the practitioner should focus single-mindedly on meditation and not be distracted by the four modes of behavior. The Sanskrit word "Varna" (Tibetan: ཝརྞ།, Devanagari: वर्ण, Romanized Sanskrit: varṇa, literal Chinese meaning: color) can refer to both caste and color, and here it is translated as color. However, other translators and commentators have consistently considered it to be caste. Therefore, its meaning is that the five aggregates and other five things practice conduct by abiding in the nature of the five castes. The fifth is: Combined with the five families. The family is regarded as one. Because there are many colors. Therefore, it is impossible to distinguish.
