Having offered all body and possessions, I pray that the glorious Vajradhara Guru may bless my body, speech, and mind. Having prayed thus, white, red, and blue rays of light emanated from the crown, throat, and heart of Vajradhara. As they gradually dissolved into my three places, the obscurations of the three doors were purified. I meditate on being one who has the fortune to manifest the Vajra body, speech, and mind. At the time of concluding the session, all the retinue dissolve into the Guru Vajradhara. That also dissolves from oneself, so the Guru's body, speech, and mind, and one's own body, speech, and mind are left undifferentiated. By meditating on the Guru Yoga in this way, it goes to the heart of pride. The demon of the son of the gods is pacified. The arrogant are subdued. One is able to bless oneself and others. Equanimity wisdom arises. In short, it is important to diligently practice Guru Yoga. On the snow mountain of the Guru's four bodies, if the sun of devotion does not rise, the stream of blessings will not flow, so diligently cultivate this devotion. Thus it was said. Fourth, the Great Seal (Mahamudra): The way of abiding of the nature of mind, untouched by the mind of samsara and nirvana, not fabricated by appearance and emptiness, not experienced as appearance, not experienced as emptiness, not experienced as existence, not experienced as non-existence, not experienced as delusion, not experienced as liberation, is free from all limitations, partialities, and biases. Not made by the Buddha, not fabricated by sentient beings, not purified by the path, not changed in color, is primordially free from extremes, the result is the spontaneously present three bodies, perfect in abandonment and realization, manifestly possessing the two knowledges, a thing that is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. That state of how the nature abides is called the Ground Mahamudra. Relying on the Guru's blessing and skillful means, when it is pointed out, by placing the state as it is, recognizing the face as it is, without fabricating on top of it, without corrupting it with the mind, by placing it as it is, the essence's natural flow, thoughts naturally cease, the essence is clear and empty, nakedly and freshly, the knowing that is clear and unceasing, free from good thoughts, bad thoughts, and neutral thoughts, without even a single fabrication, that which is free from all names and meanings, that is what is called the Mind-Essence Mahamudra. Within that state, no matter what circumstances arise, one does not abide on the edge of samsara and nirvana, but goes to the state as it is, that is called the Result Mahamudra.

O! In short, it is the meaning that the guru cannot point out, the disciple cannot understand, and cannot experience. This great transcendence of thought is beyond all conceptualizations of whether it is or is not. It is the innate nature that no one can fabricate, and it is called Mahamudra. The way to practice it is twofold: tranquility and insight. The first has three stages: to grasp what has not been grasped, to stabilize what has been grasped, and to enhance what has been stabilized. The first stage is: sit in the lotus position, with hands in the meditation mudra, arms extended, spine straight, head slightly tilted forward, lips natural, eyes gazing at the sky in front of the tip of the nose, and the mind resting in its natural state. If you cannot abide in this, as stated in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "The body with a golden hue, the protector of the world is extremely beautiful, whoever's mind is on that object, that Bodhisattva is in meditation." As it is said. As stated in the sutra, visualize the clear appearance of the body of the perfectly enlightened Buddha on the lion throne lotus moon cushion in front, without being distracted to other places, focus the mind on one point. If dullness occurs, focus on the crown of the head; if excitement occurs, focus on the lotus seat. Adjust the line of sight to be moderate from top to bottom, and eliminate faults. If the mind is too distracted, then focus solely on the breath going in and out, and by continuing this, the state of abiding will become stable. The second stage is: at the beginning of the arising of abiding, from the white lotus in the heart, a second drop arises, reaching the sky from the crown of the head and abiding there. Similarly, visualize a second black drop arising in the center of the black facing downwards, arising from the water channel, and abiding between the cushions, alternately focusing the mind on this. For the former, look upwards, exhale more air, and release awareness; for the latter, look downwards, focus intently on the object, and then return the mind to its natural state, etc., as before. The third stage is: for the objects of the senses, such as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile sensations, and mental objects that appear as external objects, no matter what kind of conceptual thought arises, do not continue to the second thought, abide in the present moment, and through practice, the state of union of tranquility and insight will be enhanced. Initially, the wavering mind is easily distracted by external objects, through mindfulness and awareness.
