Even if it is difficult to settle, do not be lazy. When there is a slight wavering, the wavering of coarse conceptual thoughts subsides, and subtle movements are recognized. Finally, the state of immovability is reached, and the reality and conformity of calm abiding, which cannot be moved by any thought, arise in sequence. Then, the second is the introduction to insight: When one is single-pointedly abiding in samadhi, what is the nature of my mind's abiding? How does it abide in terms of color? How does it abide in terms of shape? If I do not see the abiding, I should look at the movement. This thought itself is also movement. Therefore, how does this move in terms of color? How does it move in terms of shape? How does it move in terms of essence? What kind of form is this? Sound? Smell? Taste? Touch? Dharma? What contradicts abiding should be examined. If that path is found, where is the place where this first arose? Where is the place where it abides in the middle? Where is the place where it ultimately goes? Search accurately in all inner and outer aspects. If it becomes difficult to see, offer a mandala to the lama and pray. If the nature of the mind is not known, one cannot be liberated from samsara. If one is not liberated from it, one cannot endure the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death. Therefore, I must know the nature of the mind with certainty, and generate a strong longing in my heart. At all times, strive only to stare intently at one's own mind, and then one will surely see it. If one does not see one's own mind, it cannot be introduced. For example, if one does not see letters, how can one teach letters? If one sees even a little bit, that much can be introduced. If one thinks that it does not appear after looking, look also at the one who is looking. Just because it is not seen, it does not become non-existent, like a treasure under the ground. Therefore, not seeing it anywhere is the best way to see it. Previously, when there was no awareness, it was considered awareness; when there was no knowledge, it was considered knowledge; when there was no mind, it was considered mind; when there was no intellect, it was considered intellect; when there was no realization, it was considered realization, and then one becomes distracted. Do you understand that? Son of lineage, your mind is like a rabbit's horn, without a basis, without inherent existence, without arising, without coming into being, without going, without abiding, and because its own nature is uncompounded, even the all-knowing one cannot see it. Meaning.

Has this definitive understanding settled well in your heart? Therefore, abide in the state of no-mind! Abide in the state of inconceivability! Furthermore, son of lineage, if in your mind there is the thought of 'this is me, this is him,' then the appearance of a mere faint glimmer and the arising of various conceptualizations, is this not astonishing? Therefore, just let whatever appears to you be in its natural state! Let it be relaxed! Let it be naked! Son of lineage, to consider appearance as a fault and emptiness as a virtue, or to consider emptiness as a fault and appearance as a virtue, is childish. Appearance itself is emptiness, and emptiness itself is appearance, therefore, know that appearance and emptiness are of the same taste. In short, whatever arises for you, release it without clinging. Whatever appears, liberate it as unreal. Be liberated from all things. Let samsara and nirvana merge into one. Let awareness utterly vanish. Let coming and going be without trace. Merging delusion and liberation into one, in just this way, maintain the absence of clinging to reality for a long time. Such a nature of mind is called 'unfabricated ordinary awareness.' It is called 'the original face of one's own mind.' It is called 'the reality of the nature of things.' It is called 'the way of abiding of the ultimate Dharmakaya.' Is your present mind not clear, lucid, and open? That is the nature of self-arisen awareness. Is there not a definitive understanding of that nature, thinking, 'It is like this'? That is called 'the wisdom of insight realization.' In that state, is there not an abiding that is bright and clear? That is called 'the gateway to the arising of shamatha-samadhi.' Therefore, directly merge samsara into nirvana. Directly merge sentient beings into Buddhahood. Directly merge delusion into self-liberation. Directly merge afflictions into wisdom, this is called 'the introduction to the primordial Dharmakaya,' do you understand? Do you comprehend? Have you gained definitive understanding? Have you completely realized it? Always keep this correct definitive meaning in your heart, and make the unfamiliar familiar. Always protect this truth that cannot be protected. Therefore, abandon attachment to this life. Rely on impermanence in your mind. Constantly generate renunciation. Pray to the root guru. Act according to the guru's instructions. Constantly frequent solitary places. Urge yourself on with the whip of diligence. Look at the original face of your own nature. Take introduction as the essence.
