Since there is none, in order to establish all sentient beings on the ground of Buddhahood, the deeds (of the Buddhas) are not completely perfected. As long as samsara is not empty, the deeds of the Buddhas will not cease. The third root is to explain very extensively by combining metaphors, which has two parts: briefly indicating the classification of metaphors; explaining the meaning of metaphors in detail. The first is: Like Indra, drum, cloud, Brahma, and, like the sun, jewel, precious gem, the Tathagata is like a sound, like the sky and the earth. It is said that the activities of the Buddhas, through the way of being spontaneously accomplished without conceptualization and continuously, enter in accordance with the capacity of the disciples, which itself is the nine types of metaphors used to symbolize. The metaphor of showing the body is like the image of Indra appearing on the ground of lapis lazuli; the metaphor of proclaiming the sacred Dharma is like the sound of the heavenly drum; the metaphor of wisdom and compassion pervading everything is like the cloud; the metaphor of showing various manifestations of the body is like Brahma not moving from his own abode, but using manifestations to accomplish the affairs of the desire gods; the metaphor of generating wisdom is like rays of light arising from the sun; the metaphor of the secret of the mind being inconceivable is like the arising of desired objects from precious jewels; the metaphor of the secret of the Tathagata's speech being inconceivable is like the echo in the valley, which, although not real, shows various things to be expressed; the metaphor of the secret of the body being inconceivable is like the sky, which, although nothing is established, shows everything; the metaphor of accomplishing the benefit of others with great compassion is like the earth being the basis of everything. Here, Kunchen Dolpopa said: The Buddhas have no birth and death, so the complete distinction is the nature of the unconditioned, so how can the activities that are spontaneously accomplished and continuous enter from that as long as samsara is not empty? In order to dispel the illusions of those who have doubts and hesitations, and to generate faith in the realm of the Buddha, many clear metaphors are explained. So it is said. The second is the detailed explanation, which has three parts: combining the individual nature with the meaning of the metaphor; stating the necessity and summarizing the meaning of the chapter; summarizing again and explaining the difference. The first has nine: the body shows various miracles, the speech proclaims the pith instructions, the mind pervades with wisdom and compassion, the mani
