Just as it is not like ordinary beings, although the compassion of the Buddha pervades all sentient beings, the unmixed qualities are not shared with sentient beings. In truth, even emptiness cannot depict the unmixed qualities, because the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space are similar only in terms of elements, etc., and are common in the world, while the eighteen unmixed qualities of the Buddha, even as small as dust particles, have never been shared with worldly people, thus surpassing even metaphors. Second, there are two aspects to explaining the ripening fruit: the distinction of the characteristics to be expressed, and the summarization of the expressions through metaphors. First: Having a wheel mark on the soles of the feet, broad heels that are not visible, long fingers, hands and feet connected by webs, smooth skin, youthful flesh, excellent beauty, a body that is tall in seven places, legs hidden like those of a gazelle, disappearing into the thighs like an elephant king, the upper body like a lion, full and without gaps between the shoulders, well-rounded arms, soft hands, round and without high or low points, long hands, a completely pure body, possessing a halo of light, a neck as white as a conch shell, cheeks like those of a deer king, forty even teeth, very clean and well-aligned teeth, even teeth, extremely white teeth, a long and boundless tongue, inconceivable, possessing the best taste, the sound of the self-arisen Kalavinka bird and the voice of Brahma, beautiful eyes like a flock of blue lotuses, a beautiful face, possessing a white urna hair between the eyebrows, a crown on the head, pure and thin, skin like the color of gold, the most supreme of beings. Fine and soft hairs, each one curling upwards to the right, clean hair like precious dark blue, like the halo of a full moon tree. Incomparable like Samantabhadra, a great sage, the power of a son without desire, a solid body. Inconceivable, radiant thirty-two marks, these are the marks of a monarch spoken by the teacher. Thus it is said, the self-arisen Buddha possesses thirty-two marks, and what are these marks? 1. In the past, while on the path of learning, properly upholding the vows and welcoming the guru, therefore like a turtle.
