That nature is not eternally defiled by all defilements, defilements of karma, and defilements of birth, which are included in the removable adventitious stains, because its own nature is completely pure. The third part has two parts: summarizing the way of being free from birth and destruction, and summarizing the way of destruction. The first part is: This is not manifestly accomplished by karma and afflictions, water, etc., Death, disease, and old age, even unbearable fire will not burn. It is said that the nature of mind, the clear light dharmadhatu, is not manifestly accomplished and produced by the collection of water of karma and afflictions and the wind of improper attention, etc. Death is the fire of the end of time, disease is the fire of hell, and old age is the unbearable ordinary fire, but they will not burn and destroy it, because it is the unconditioned nature that does not change. The second part is: The three fires of the end of time, hell, and ordinary, The three fires of death, disease, and old age, respectively, Know that they are similar. It is said that the three fires of the end of time, hell, and ordinary should be known to be similar to the three fires of death, disease, and old age, respectively. Just as the fire of the end of time destroys the outer world, the fire of death destroys the aggregates of this life; just as the fire of hell produces suffering, the fire of disease also produces it; just as the ordinary fire ripens actions, the fire of old age ripens the aggregates. Second, regarding the meaning of not changing to a pure state when impure, there are two parts: actually showing the meaning of not being changed by birth, etc., and identifying the qualities of the bodhisattvas on the ten bhumis. The first part has two parts: the way of appearing to change even though it does not change, and explaining its meaning in detail. The first part is: Liberated from birth, death, sickness, and old age, Realizing the nature of this as it is, Although free from the poverty of birth, etc., because of that, Intelligent ones rely on it to generate compassion for beings. It is said that the noble Bodhisattvas are liberated from the birth of newly formed aggregates, the death of the continuous cessation, the disease of producing suffering, and the old age of continuous change, because they have realized this nature as it is.

Because they actually realize and abide in the suchness of the essence of the Sugata, the nature or reality of this Dharmadhatu. Moreover, they are free from the poverty and suffering of birth, etc., caused by the power of karma and afflictions, and are completely pure and unchanging. Even so, because of realizing the Dharmadhatu as it is, wise Bodhisattvas generate great compassion, wishing to free all beings who have not realized it in this way from all suffering, and abide in that compassion. For the sake of others, through the power of aspirations and the like, they willingly take birth in samsara, and in order to avert the clinging to permanence, they rely on death, sickness, old age, and the like, and abide in samsara. Therefore, to others, they also appear to be impure and subject to change. The second part has two points: the reason for not being changed by suffering; the reason for appearing to change due to compassion. The first point is: The noble ones have completely abandoned death, sickness, and the suffering of old age. Those born by the power of karma and afflictions, because they do not have that, they do not have that either. It is said that the noble assembly of Bodhisattvas has eradicated the suffering of involuntary death, sickness, and old age, because the cause of these sufferings is improper attention, karma and afflictions, and being born in samsara by their power. Since the Bodhisattva does not have these causes, the result of being changed by suffering is also absent. The second point is: Because they have truly seen reality as it is, they have transcended all births, etc., but with the nature of compassion, they show birth and death, as well as aging and sickness. It is said that because the noble Bodhisattvas have actually and directly seen the Dharmadhatu as unborn and unchanging, they have transcended and liberated themselves from the suffering of involuntary birth, etc., in samsara. However, because they have great compassion for sentient beings who have not realized this, they willingly manifest various changing appearances such as birth, death, sickness, and old age in samsara, and ripen beings according to their capacities. Second, identifying the qualities of the Bodhisattvas on the ten bhumis.
