Like grain, the All-Knowing One, whose very essence is the ultimate Dharmakaya, is without birth and death because it is immutable. Secondly: 'Thus, without effort, from the unborn, unceasing Dharmakaya, as long as samsara exists, the Teacher and others engage in activity.' It is said. If one asks, what is the reason why activity arises constantly without effort? Just as Indra and others, without effort, can benefit others through the appearance of reflections, so too, the Buddhas, without any effort of discrimination, etc., from the manifestation of the Dharmakaya, which is primordially unborn and unceasing, without wavering, as long as this endless samsara of beings is not empty, the body shows various miracles, the speech speaks instructions, and the mind pervades with knowledge and compassion, etc. These spontaneously accomplished activities proceed constantly. Secondly, there are two ways to show the difference from the similarities: brief explanation and detailed explanation. The first is: These examples are summarized. The meaning is this, and the order is also. The former and latter dharmas do not agree, and are expressed from the gate of abandonment. It is said that the meaning of these nine examples that represent the activities of the Buddha is shown by these texts that have been explained and will be explained. Moreover, the reason for determining the order in which the latter example shows after the former example will also be explained. Therefore, the former examples cannot fully represent the activities of the Buddha, and whatever aspects of the dharma do not agree are abandoned in order by the latter examples, and are expressed from the gate of showing the agreeing dharma. The second is: The Buddha is like a reflection, without sound, not like that; like a celestial drum, not always accomplishing benefit and happiness; like a great cloud, meaningless, not abandoning seeds; like the Great Brahma, not constantly ripening; like the image of the sun, not constantly destroying darkness; like a wish-fulfilling jewel, producing

It is not so difficult to obtain. Like a sound image, it arises from conditions, and is not the same as that. Like the purity of the sky, it is not the same as that which is not a basis. All the perfections of beings, both worldly and transcendent, because it is the support where they dwell, it is like the circle of the earth. Relying on the Buddha's enlightenment, because the path beyond the world arises, virtuous actions, meditation, immeasurable qualities, and the formless arise. As explained in between, the activity of the perfect Buddhas is to show infinite manifestations of the body, like the reflection of Indra appearing on a ground of lapis lazuli. However, the form does not possess sound, but the Buddha possesses the sound of teaching the Dharma, therefore it is not the same, and is exceedingly superior. Thus, the various instructions of the sound of teaching the Dharma are like the great drum of the gods, showing the four seals of the Dharma. However, the great drum is only one-sided, it does not function by pervading everything, but the Buddha benefits by pervading all the worlds to be tamed, therefore it is not the same as that, and is exceedingly superior. Thus, in terms of pervading all realms of the world, maturing beings to be tamed with wisdom and compassion is like a great cloud pervading everything and maturing crops. However, the cloud does not abandon meaningless seeds, but the Buddha abandons meaningless seeds of afflictions such as desire, therefore it is not the same as that, and is exceedingly superior. Thus, in terms of abandoning meaningless seeds of affliction, showing infinite emanations is like the emanation of the Great Brahma abandoning attachment to desirable qualities. However, Brahma only benefits temporarily, not permanently maturing them, but the Buddha is permanent, continuously and completely maturing the lineage of those to be tamed, therefore it is not the same as that, and is exceedingly superior. Thus, in terms of permanently maturing the crops of those to be tamed, radiating infinite rays of wisdom is like the rays of the sun's form making
