As long as defilements are not purified, the Victorious One is also like that. If not liberated from the defilements of affliction, The Victorious One will not engage in the affairs of the three realms. Just as the essence of grains like rice, barley, and wheat, if not separated from the husk, If not properly processed, it will not become delicious food for people to consume. Similarly, the dominion of Dharma that beings possess, if not liberated from the shell of affliction, Will not be able to give the taste of Dharma's joy to beings afflicted by the hunger of affliction. Just as pure human gold, Falls into a place of rotten filth. The fearless Dharma-nature is also like that. Even if it remains there for hundreds of years, The gods with pure divine eyes, Seeing it, will say to people: Here is gold, You should refine this supreme treasure, and accomplish deeds with treasure. Similarly, the Thus-Gone One, seeing the qualities of beings immersed in defilements like impurity, In order to purify the mud of defilements, Pours down the rain of the sacred Dharma upon beings. Just as gold falling into a place of rotten filth, when seen by the gods, In order to make it completely pure, they diligently show its ultimate beauty to people. Similarly, the Victorious One, seeing the precious complete enlightenment fallen into the great impurity of defilements, In order to purify beings, teaches the Dharma to sentient beings. Just as in the house of a poor person, underground, There is an inexhaustible treasure. But that person does not know it, and the treasure does not Say to him: I am here. Similarly, the treasure contained within the mind, The stainless ground and the indestructible Dharma-nature. Because of not realizing it, these beings constantly Experience various sufferings of poverty. Just as a poor person's house contains treasure, But he does not tell people that he has treasure, because people do not know. Similarly, the Dharma treasure dwells in the house of the mind, Beings are like the poor. In order for them to obtain this treasure, A true sage (holy person) is born into the world. Just as in the fruits of trees like mangoes, There is the indestructible Dharma of seeds and sprouts. The tree with conditions such as plowing and water, Its kingly nature is gradually accomplished.

As (mentioned earlier). Furthermore, the Dharma realm's virtuous roots, contained within the skin-like covering of the fruits of beings' ignorance (and other afflictions), Similarly, virtue relies on this, Gradually transforming into the essence of the King of Conquerors. Furthermore, due to the causes and conditions of water, sunlight, wind, earth, seasons, and space, Just as trees grow from within the fruit coverings of palm and mango trees, Likewise, the seeds and sprouts of complete enlightenment, contained within the affliction-fruit coverings of sentient beings, Similarly, from these virtuous causes and conditions, the Dharma nature gradually increases. Furthermore, like the form of a Victorious One made of precious jewels, Covered by tattered clothes and foul odors, A deity passing by on the road sees it and, in order to liberate it, Speaks of the meaning of the path, just as the deity on the road would say. The Tathāgatagarbha, covered by various afflictions, is seen by the unobstructed wisdom eye, even in animals, and likewise, He shows the means to liberate them. Furthermore, like the Tathagata's body, which is the nature of a jewel, covered by foul-smelling clothes, A deity passing by on the road sees it and tells people how to liberate it. Similarly, the realm (of beings) covered by tattered clothes of afflictions, dwelling on the path of samsara, Is seen even in animals, and the Victorious One teaches the Dharma to liberate them. Furthermore, like an ugly, poor woman, Dwelling in a helpless abode, Holding the glory of a king in her womb, Not knowing that the lord is in her own belly. Furthermore, birth in samsara is like a helpless home, Like an impure sentient being, a woman with a womb. Furthermore, that which has protection because of what is present, The stainless realm is like the fetus in her womb. Like a woman with a dirty body, wearing dirty clothes, with an unpleasant appearance, Even though the lord of the earth is in her womb, she experiences great suffering in a helpless house. Likewise, Although I have a protector dwelling within me, I am a sentient being with a helpless mind, Controlled by the afflictions of beings, with an unpacified mind, dwelling in the destruction of suffering. Furthermore, like the shape of molten gold inside growing, The peaceful outside has the nature of earth, Seeing and understanding it, those who know the inner gold, Purify the outer obscurations in order to refine it. After the naturally luminous and all kinds of stains, are suddenly and completely seen, Beings who are like the source of jewels, Liberate from obscurations and practice the supreme Bodhi. Like dirt
