By what obscurations are we obscured, that I, sentient beings, go to hell, or go to the animal realm, or go to the realm of the hungry ghosts, or are born in a borderland, or are born as barbarians, or are born among the long-lived gods, or become deficient in faculties, or hold wrong views, or do not rejoice in the appearance of the Buddhas? All those karmic obscurations—before the Buddhas, the Bhagavat who has become wisdom, who has become the eye, who has become the authority, who has become the measure, the knower, the seer—I confess and admit them. I do not conceal them. I do not hide them. Hereafter, I will also cut them off and restrain them. May all those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, consider me. From this birth and from beginningless and endless births, in other births in samsara, whatever roots of virtue there are from giving, even just giving a mouthful of food to a being born in the animal realm, and whatever roots of virtue there are from my keeping moral discipline, and whatever roots of virtue there are from my abiding in pure conduct, and whatever roots of virtue there are from my completely ripening sentient beings, and whatever roots of virtue there are from my generating the mind of supreme awakening, and whatever roots of virtue there are from my unsurpassed wisdom—all those I gather together and combine. Having combined them, I dedicate them completely to the unsurpassed, the higher than the unsurpassed, the higher than the higher, the supreme of the supreme. I dedicate all those roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete awakening. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past dedicated them, and just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the future will dedicate them, and just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who appear in the present dedicate them, so too do I dedicate them. I confess all sins individually. I rejoice in all merits. I urge and request all the Buddhas. May I obtain the supreme essence of unsurpassed wisdom. Supreme among humans, those victorious ones who now abide, and those who have passed away
