is the clinging to the qualities and faults of sentient beings. Depending on the scriptures, what is generated and obtained in manifest beings is the basis of the three fives and the three joys. Among the four immeasurables, it is possible that joy is not possessed by those born in the third and fourth dhyanas, so it is certain to possess the attainment of the third. Manifestation is contradictory, so there is only one. The second (dhyana) has four: the essence of the qualities, the way to obtain them, the difference of the bases, and the way the samadhi arises. The first (aspect) has: liberation, subjugation, and cessation. The first (liberation) has two: teaching and explanation. The first is: if liberation is classified, there are eight types, namely three of the form realm, four of the formless realm, and one liberation of cessation. The necessity is to obtain the qualities of non-affliction, etc., and to accomplish the miraculous powers of the noble ones, and to cut off afflictions, and to be able to freely enter into samadhi. The meaning of the word is that because it turns its back on the object of focus, it is liberation, that is, it turns its back on the place of oneself and others in the form realm, and the lower ground of the formless realm, and all actions of cessation. The second explanation has: essence and place. The first has the liberation of the form realm, the formless realm, and cessation. Among them, the first two are to observe various impurities, etc., which are the unattractive contemplations mentioned earlier. The ground refers to the antidote to attachment to the color of the first dhyana, which exists in the previous two dhyanas, but not beyond that, because there is no eye consciousness in the second dhyana, etc., so there is no attachment to color. The third is that it is free from the faults of the ground, so it achieves superior liberation, or it exists in the fourth dhyana, but liberation is not established in the third dhyana, because there is no attachment to color, so there is no unattractive contemplation, and because it is shaken by the fault of pleasure, so there is no establishment of attractive liberation. The essence is that it is also because it cuts off attachment, the main thing is non-attachment, and together with the retinue it is the five aggregates. The necessity of practicing it is to praise the mind that is discouraged by the two unattractive contemplations, and to observe whether there is attachment to the attractive to judge whether the previous two have been accomplished. The second is that the liberation of the formless realm is its equipoise, the virtuous pure ones and the undefiled ones, etc., because the afflicted ones and the non-equipoised ones cannot cut off the obstacles of equipoise. In the commentary, not being in equipoise refers to thinking about the existence of death alone, and the arising of the ripening fruit at other times. Or the virtue of death

That which is naturally endowed, and also that which exists elsewhere, is explained in the view of interpretation. The third is, the meditative absorption of cessation. The initial mind of absorption is in accordance with what is taught, naturally subtle, entering even more subtly into the mind of the peak of existence. The mind of emergence is, emerging from that by the pure one of its own peak of existence and the mind of the noble one without anything below. By which of those two it emerges and for how long it emerges follows the throwing. It is also said that it emerges from the fourth uncontaminated one accomplished by karma. It is said in the sutra that only that and the third are directly realized by the body, because, for those with form, by way of transformation, all obscurations are abandoned, and although it is suffering, afflictions do not arise, so it is the third. And, for the formless, from the cause, the first eighth consciousness is the main one. And, because it dwells at the edge of the realm and the ground. That is to say, that is complete as a cause, and also suitable as a cause. The second, the object is: the first three belong to the appearance of the desire realm, which has objects of the beautiful and the unbeautiful. The objects of the four that are not form are all the three truths such as suffering of the upper and own ground, and the path is all that is in accordance with the aspect of subsequent wisdom. The signless is the object of the signless, which is inconceivable. And, the sky of infinite space is also the sky. The second, the overcoming is: if the spheres of overcoming are divided, there are eight types, internally fixating on form, observing external small forms, good and bad colors, etc., overcoming those forms and seeing them, seeing them as fixated in that way, this is the first. Similarly, observing the large, and internally not fixating on form, observing both small and large, and, thereby, the external blue form appearing as blue, such as the appearance of blue light. For example, like the Zarma flower, the silk of Varanasi is very rich, the blue color appearing as blue, observing as the appearance of blue light, as before. Yellow is the Dongka flower, red is the Bandhujivaka flower, white is like the star Pabasang. The meaning of the words is that the small form is sentient beings, the large form is the vessel. Good and bad colors are said on the ground to be beautiful and unbeautiful. For the four colors, give examples.
