Ra. Cannot agree, because you have not attained Nirvana, because this is the wisdom of studying the Hinayana. Secondly, the basis of knowledge of the Hearer Arhat continuum, should abide in existence, because that is your commitment. Cannot agree, because this is the Hinayana wisdom that has completely abandoned existence. Here, regarding the analysis of whether Hearers and Solitary Realizers realize the selflessness of phenomena, refuting the view of realization, as a branch of it, refuting other wrong conceptions, and identifying the key of non-contradiction, there are three points. The first point is divided into two parts: stating the former position and refuting it. The first part is: Tsongkhapa says: Hearers and Solitary Realizers realize the selflessness of phenomena, otherwise, Hearer Arhats, should not have abandoned the afflictions that operate in the three realms, because they have not realized the selflessness of phenomena. Also, a Bodhisattva abiding on the first ground, should be able to subdue Hearer Arhats with the power of wisdom, because the former directly realizes it, and the latter does not directly realize it. If you agree, then a newly born young prince, should be able to subdue his old ministers with the power of wisdom. Furthermore, Hearer Arhats, should generate self-grasping by focusing on their own aggregates, because they are persons who have not abandoned the grasping at truth, which grasps their own aggregates as true. If you agree, then they should accumulate karma under the influence of self-grasping, and be born in samsara under its influence, because that is what you agree to. There is pervasion in both the former and the latter, as it is said in the Ratnavali: As long as there is grasping at the aggregates. Furthermore, they should not have realized the nature of the selflessness of persons in a complete manner, because they have not realized that the basis of imputation, the aggregates, are without inherent existence. Also, they should not have abandoned the grasping at truth, which grasps the aggregates as true, because they have not realized that the aggregates are without inherent existence. If you agree, then they should have abandoned it, because they have abandoned the afflictive obscurations. The second point is, in the first point, the afflictions that operate in the three realms should have the self-grasping of phenomena as their root, because the first inference has a pervasive explanation. If you agree, then it should be the obscuration of knowledge, any obscuration that obscures the superior insight that it obscures,

Because it is the root of clinging to phenomena. It is pervasive, as stated in the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra: "The obscuration of afflictions has its root in clinging to the self of a person, and the obscuration of knowledge has its root in clinging to the self of phenomena." Secondly, the bodhisattva on the sixth ground is able to overcome the śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and arhats with the power of their wisdom, because the bodhisattva abiding on the sixth ground is able to enter into cessation, which prevents all elaboration. The śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and arhats are not able to do that. Furthermore, the bodhisattva on the first ground is also able to overcome them with the power of their wisdom, because the former has obtained the actual antidote to the seeds of the one hundred and eight conceptualizations of apprehended and apprehender to be abandoned on the paths of seeing and cultivation, while the latter has not obtained it. The pervasiveness of both is accepted. In the Daśabhūmika Sūtra, it is said that they cannot overcome, which means that they are not able to enter into and arise from cessation in each moment, so although they have surpassed the grounds of the śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas from the first ground, they have not obtained the antidote that actually abandons all object-fixation, so they are not completely surpassed. Thirdly, the śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and arhats, the subject, generate craving due to the power of feeling in their own continuum, because they are persons who have not abandoned feeling. It is pervasive, as stated in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "Craving arises due to the power of feeling." Furthermore, they, the subject, generate karma and afflictions due to the power of conceptual thought in their own continuum, because they are persons who possess a continuum of conceptual thought. It is pervasive, as stated in the Mūlamadhyamakakārikā: "Karma and afflictions arise from conceptual thought." The pervasiveness is established sequentially. The answer to the fourth consequence has already been explained in the second instance. Furthermore, the path of seeing of the śrāvakas is the path of seeing that possesses all the types of realization of the three vehicles, because it realizes the selflessness of phenomena that is clung to. The sign is accepted. If it is accepted, then the path of joining of the Mahāyāna is not superior to the path of joining of the Hīnayāna by way of being the cause of the path of seeing that possesses all the types of realization of the three vehicles, because that is what is asserted. It cannot be accepted, because it is said to be the cause of obtaining the three vehicles. Furthermore, the noble śrāvaka directly sees the tathāgatagarbha, because he realizes the selflessness of phenomena that is clung to. If it is accepted, then,
