As such, it is said. Some Tibetans here believe that correct view is intellectual valid cognition, which is very wrong. Because intellectual valid cognition is a term of the Svatantrika school, it is not explained in the texts of the Prasangika school. Even if it is admitted, it is knowledge based on reasoning. But this is the samadhi of the noble ones. The Commentary on Entering the Middle Way says, "The knowledge of ordinary beings who have not separated from the uncontaminated wisdom and see the uncontaminated does not harm it." Shantideva's view is: the actual object of the worldly mind and the suchness that transcends it. Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life says, "The ultimate is not the object of the mind, the mind is said to be conventional truth." The view of the scholar Yeshe Nyingpo is: the object of worldly terms and the suchness that transcends it. The Sutra says, "What is conventional truth? It is all the names, letters, languages, and expressions established by the world. What is ultimate truth? Even the activity of the mind is absent, let alone letters?" Based on this, the distinction between the two truths is made. Second, there are two divisions: the division of conventional truth and the division of ultimate truth. First, the teacher Chandrakirti divides them into true conventional and false conventional. Each of these two is further divided into object and subject. The six entering consciousnesses that are not deluded by sudden causes of confusion are the subject of true conventional, and its actual object of apprehension is the object of true conventional. The six entering consciousnesses that are deluded by sudden causes of confusion are the subject of false conventional, and its actual object of apprehension is the object of false conventional. Here, there are two types: apparent false conventional and symbolic false conventional. The first is mistaking a mirage for water, and the second is mistaking self and Ishvara, etc., for real. Yeshe Nyingpo says, "Although appearing similar, their functions differ. Because of the ability and inability, the distinction between true and untrue conventional is made." In this way, the difference between the two is distinguished. Second, ultimate truth is the nature of universal oneness like space, so from the perspective of its own nature, there should be no difference.

Also the same. From the perspective of the nature of phenomena, emptiness is twenty kinds, which are summarized into sixteen kinds, and further summarized into four kinds. Third, regarding conventional truth, from the perspective of the subject, conventional refers to that which obscures the seeing of the true nature of things, because the nature of ignorance has the quality of obscuring, therefore it is conventional. As it is said in the scripture, "Because the nature of ignorance has the quality of obscuring, therefore it is conventional." Because it appears as true in the presence of that consciousness, therefore it is truth. As it is said in the scripture, "That which falsely appears, is said to be conventional truth, thus spoke the Buddha." Regarding the meaning of the term ultimate truth, the three words "ultimate," "meaning," and "truth" in ultimate truth are of the same entity, therefore it is ultimate truth. As it is said in the commentary on the Entering the Middle Way, "The ultimate truth of the Buddhas is the very nature, and it is the ultimate truth by its non-deceptive nature, which is to be known by each of them individually by their own wisdom." Why is suchness called truth? The word truth has two meanings, one is non-deceptive, and the other is abiding in reality. Here, the first meaning is taken, as it is said in the scripture, "The supreme truth is only one, namely the non-deceptive nirvana of the nature of phenomena." Explaining the meaning of the word from the perspective of the subject is explained according to the treatises of the Svātantrika school. The clear and valid cognition that ultimately functions is the ultimate, and thinking about it as it is ascertained is non-deceptive for obtaining ultimate qualities, therefore it is established as truth. In suffering, form and so on become the result. When talking about this, there are three aspects: the explanation of the meaning of the four truths, the characteristics, and the examples. First, why are the four truths called noble truths? As the scriptures say about impermanence and suffering, etc., focusing on them and meditating on them becomes the cause for attaining purity, and the noble ones see impermanence and suffering, etc., as true in a way that is established by valid cognition, while ordinary people cling to purity and happiness, etc., in a way that is not established by valid cognition. Second, there are two aspects: refutation and establishment. First, the characteristic of the truth of suffering is that it is a collection of contaminated results, and a contaminated thing that is the result of its own cause—the origin of suffering.
