Because it was said that way, and in the commentary on the "Entering the Path," it says: To teach the Dharma in order to comprehend is the pith instruction. Here also, entrusting the transmission is admonishing the Three Jewels, and so on. Furthermore, if it is the subject matter of the pith instruction, then it must be the pith instruction, because the subject matter is the pith instruction of meaning, so it must be the pith instruction. If you accept, then the subject matter of the scripture must be the scripture. The second part has two aspects: refutation and establishment. The first is: Regarding the definition of the Great Vehicle's pith instruction, some define it as: that which becomes a means to attain perfect enlightenment, and the pure speech that causes the attainment of perfect enlightenment, and the pure speech that mainly focuses on disciples with the lineage of the Great Vehicle and teaches them the means to attain perfect enlightenment. If these are established, then for the first, the path of joining of the Great Vehicle, it should be so, because of that definition. For the second, the pith instruction of the Lesser Vehicle, it should be so, because of that definition. If it is not established, then it should be so, because the vehicle of the Lesser Vehicle becomes a means to attain perfect enlightenment, because it ultimately becomes established as one vehicle. For the third, for the sutra that mainly focuses on disciples with uncertain lineages and teaches them the ultimate one vehicle, it should be so, because it is the object to be expressed. It should be so, because there are such cases, as it says in the Ornament: The perfect Buddhas teach one vehicle to those who are uncertain. If you accept the root, then the disciples with uncertain lineages would become disciples of the Great Vehicle. The second is: Among the three enlightenments, the pure speech that mainly causes the attainment of perfect enlightenment. From the perspective of essence, there are two types: the Buddha's words and treatises of the Great Vehicle. From the perspective of object, there are ten types, such as the pith instruction that admonishes one's own essence of practice. From the perspective of the way of teaching, there are two types: the pith instruction of admonishment and the pith instruction of subsequent teaching. Regarding the difference between these two, the "Sunlight Commentary" says: To maintain without deterioration in order to fully cultivate the qualities that have been truly attained is complete admonishment, and after that, to closely maintain in order to attain the qualities that have not been attained is subsequent teaching. And in the "Great Commentary," it says: For any of the ten aspects, such as practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, that have been attained,

In order to preserve the qualities completely and prevent them from deteriorating, one should be restrained by learning. Then, in order to gain the qualities that have not yet been attained, one should be taught accordingly, as it is said. Thirdly, some believe that in order to listen to the special instructions of the Mahayana, one must attain the great accumulation path of the Mahayana, because one must attain the Samadhi of the Dharma Stream. As the Ornament of Realization says, "At that time, the stream of Dharma, for the sake of the peace of all Buddhas, and vast wisdom, one will obtain vast instructions." Thus it is said. If so, it follows that a person who has not entered the Mahayana path is not allowed to listen to the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment, because he has not heard the uncommon instructions of the Mahayana. If you admit it, then it follows that a person who has not generated the supreme Bodhicitta is not allowed to listen to the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment, for the same reason. If you admit it, then it contradicts the sutra which says, "Those sons of gods who have not generated the thought of enlightenment, they will generate the thought of enlightenment." Also, it follows that a Bodhisattva who dwells on the small accumulation path of the Mahayana is not allowed to listen to the uncommon instructions of the Mahayana, because the fundamental vow is such. If you admit it, then it contradicts "Bodhisattvas who have generated the first thought of enlightenment, etc." The self-view is that, at the very least, from not having entered the path to the tenth ground, there is listening to instructions, but it is not present in the state of single-pointedly abiding in the nature of reality. If in the path of learning, there is listening to instructions without moving from equipoise, then there must also be teaching, and therefore it would become actually benefiting others. Some believe that a Bodhisattva in his last existence does not listen to instructions, because he does not rely on the instructions of other teachers, and is able to manifest self-arisen enlightenment. To say this is merely a small-minded thought of whether that Bodhisattva is the first to become enlightened as a Nirmanakaya? If he first becomes enlightened as a Sambhogakaya, then it is necessary to bestow the great light empowerment on the support of the last existence. In the chapter on "The various classifications of Bodhicitta," in analyzing the extremes of the two truths, there are four points: the basis of classification, the nature of classification, the meaning of classification, and the establishment of each. The first point, some believe that there is no basis for classification, because ultimate truth does not exist, this statement is unreasonable, because classification
